Bowie's death recently reminded me of when and how I fell in love with film: it was the opulence of the Hyde Park Picture House; the decadence of a midnight screening of The Hunger; Bauhaus in a cage; Bowie in his natural role as the ETERNAL. I was falling in love for the first time. I double-dropped for the first... More

It's a beautiful old cinema with friendly & helpful staff. I've been along to the BYOBaby film sessions on Wednesdays. £5 for a film and a hot drink, with subtitles for when the babies noise gets too loud. We had a great time.

We've been a few times and it's a great step back in time and a good place to watch a film. Often a good place for the independent films that the big chains don't bother with. Often we go during the Leeds film festival, it's usually a great programme. Though parking can be awkward around their, but with Uber in... More

I've been here so many times to see films that just don't make it to the mainstream cinemas. It's a beautiful building on the outside and when you step inside it's like being transported to another time. Don't go here expecting the multiplex experience, you get personal and friendly service and the ticket prices are great. There is still the... More

As always, the Hyde Park Picture House was brilliant. This is how cinemas should be! Staff are welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. Snacks are great. Seats are a bit hard, but atmosphere was wonderful.

Go back in time and watch a film in a local cinema with period features. They only have one screen so check online in advance.

Friendly and classic cinema. Comfy seats. Hot drinks or Ice cream. A real mixture of genres of films. And sometimes it sells out - how wonderful in today's times when people stop in at home and watch films on sticks for free. It is a must place to visit in Leeds

The Hyde Park Picture House is a treasure to be conserved. The experience is old fashioned and one feels that one ought to have made more effort to dress ore smartly, hearkening back to the days when an excursion was an occasion to be marked by one's attire. That having been said, the film we saw was startlingly modern and... More

The Hyde Park Picture house makes me happy everytime I walk past it, and despite going about once a fortnight I still wish I could go more. It has great showings of films that I would never usually see, including my favourite film of 2016 'Hunt for the Wilderpeople', as well as bigger films such as 'I Am Daniel Blake'.... More
