Go back in time and watch a film in a local cinema with period features. They only have one screen so check online in advance.

Friendly and classic cinema. Comfy seats. Hot drinks or Ice cream. A real mixture of genres of films. And sometimes it sells out - how wonderful in today's times when people stop in at home and watch films on sticks for free. It is a must place to visit in Leeds

The Hyde Park Picture House is a treasure to be conserved. The experience is old fashioned and one feels that one ought to have made more effort to dress ore smartly, hearkening back to the days when an excursion was an occasion to be marked by one's attire. That having been said, the film we saw was startlingly modern and... More

The Hyde Park Picture house makes me happy everytime I walk past it, and despite going about once a fortnight I still wish I could go more. It has great showings of films that I would never usually see, including my favourite film of 2016 'Hunt for the Wilderpeople', as well as bigger films such as 'I Am Daniel Blake'.... More

Been here loads of times for general movies but particularly for the annual Leeds International Film Festival. It's a wonderful place - comfy seats, reasonably priced, great variety of releases. It feels warm, cosy and friendly...world's apart from the chain multiplexes. The staff are always lovely and they seem to really enjoy working there. The only downside for me is... More

Beautiful and quirky, well established film lovers paradise! Hyde park picture house continues to be the home of independent, quirky and classic films. Staff always so personal and welcoming and the original Art Deco building is stunning. A Leeds gem.

Cosy, atmospheric and a near damn essential visit if you live and breathe films as I do. Shows indie releases as well as the main blockbusters. Has a truly dedicated amount of volunteers and staff that all love film to help to run it, who are friendly and helpful. Keep coming back to help support this place, one of my... More

Anyone who has any interest in the cinema and films should visit the Hyde Park. It is situated in Hyde Park, Leeds 6, close to Woodhouse Moor. It is very evocative of a bygone era and also shows interesting films.

I went here on a first-date on Halloween, to see the 1984 Nightmare on Elm Street. We did not book beforehand and there was quite a queue when we arrived! My date and I chose to sit upstairs which did not cost much more than the stalls and was really comfortable. We were pleased that we were able to buy... More
