A fantastic array of butterflies from around the world, flying freely around the large domed areas. Tropical World is home to loads of exciting and exotic animals. Meerkats, monkeys, crocodiles, butterflies, snakes, lizards, iguanas and ultra cute bat's and more are here to be seen....More

Visited tropical world in Leeds today with family members and my 8 year old son. Although the main attraction was good, the cafe really let the whole experience down, plenty of staff on and not really that busy, yet all of the tables were dirty,...More

First visit for several years and a first one with our one year old daughter. We saw plenty of butterflies - unlike other reviewers - maybe they rushed through? Our daughter was very engaged by it all - more so than we had hoped. She...More

Excellent place for both adults and children alike. We live locally, and visit often. Good educational content, with interactive displays, and always a delight to see the animals.

Lovely place, Beautiful butterflies. Can imagine it is briliant place for kids but enjoyed as an adult. Been there twice - once alone years ago on a day trip to Leeds (in winter) and once with my partner after we moved to Leeds (in Summer)...More

I was horrified to see the terrible enclosures and lack of space their beautiful animals were in. The workers there need to work on enrichment ideas and consider cutting down their exotic animals as they clearly lack the funding and ability to look after them.

The visit for two to three hours is very good, not just with the butterflies flying around, but great fun fining the lizards, snakes and other species in the different areas. The large fish in the tanks are a particular fascination so are the turtles...More

All of the tropical house is inside and the enclosures are very warm so even if its horrible outside I wouldn't wear to many layers.

Sorry for the delay in answering. Many of the flying birds, butterflies etc are free to fly around. Some of the bigger species are in cages/tanks.
