Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Terrible.. how can they call this an art gallery. About a dozen small rooms with a couple "things" each in each room by resudent artist, made from paper mache and scraps of material. Zero artistic ability displayed. With the "things" being so bad that we would not buy cofee or food.

Glad the old chef has gone. Bad, arrogant attitude and food mediocre at best.
Service itself is good.

After some searching for a place for lunch we stumbled on this place.

I'm all for independent places but pretty much everything about the experience was mediocre at best. Maybe it's a sign of the times but food seemed rather overpriced, £7.50 for The Tetley Rarebit, which sounded reasonable, until it appeared. One slice of sourdough bread with a scant amount of melted cheese and a barely there garnish served on an oversized plate.

I mean, we were both kind of laughing at it.

There's an automatic 10% service charge, which I wouldn't begrudge if there was actually some attentive service but there really wasn't. The front of house person was engaging and friendly, but nobody asked if things were alright when we were having food, and nobody enquired as to whether we wanted the bill despite clearly having finished our food and drinks for some time later. These are the things that are noticeable when it comes to service.

Maybe The Tetley's whole thing is being really casual and laid-back, with staff just seemingly hanging out at the bar,but it really struck us as a bit odd, especially with a mandatory service charge. I'll happily tip for good service, whether it's a mandatory charge or voluntary, but this was barely basic service.

We had a wedding ceremony followed by the evening party here in September and it was amazing. The staff were so helpful and Holly went above and beyond to make the day straight forward and not stressful. The price was very reasonable and we had the BBQ menu and everyone loved it. Highly recommend The Tetley if you want a quirky fun wedding !

Loved coming here with two of our little grandsons (2.5 and 6 months). Parking really tricky as Leeds prioritises active travel, and accessible entrance (needed for a buggy) feels like an afterthought the back. Lovely big airy spaces once you get inside though and not at all crowded (will this change?). Entry is free with a donation. The play area upstairs (there is a lift) is a reasonable size and has a quirky selection of ball ramps, a wide slide, large wall mirrors, play platforms, huge numbers of knitted balls, fabric hanging artworks, wooden balls and large silver ladles (egg & spoon anyone?) & kept our two little boys very happily occupied for over an hour, so customer feedback is excellent! And the cafe donstairs, apart from doing good coffe, also does some seriously tasty brunch and lunch options including a goodbye Bento box option for children (all of which our older one polished off in short order, starting off with the chocolate cake cube, in a rare concession go toddler preference by his mum…..). Toilets are ok though the baby change mat was really dusty- and it does feel as if the place is just getting into its stride. Really interesting to see how the place evolves over the next year - and we want to come back.

This is difficult, because I really really want to love the place. I've visited it from the opening night around nine or ten years ago, and I've been to a bunch of gallery openings and events. Had meals there with friends, family, colleagues.

The space itself, the building is lovely.
Location is fine and in development, so will only get better. The staff are awesome. The food is great.

But

The gallery and exhibitions are always pretentious, underwhelming, dull. It's never worth the visit for the art.

The most recent Little Tetley thing is bizarre. Not something worth advertising. Meant to be a space for little kids, it's pretty much a room with a slide and some crochet boobs scattered about the floor. Some wooden balls for throwing into socks. The hanging textured tube things are too tall for a kid to reach, and there's some spoons... and cushions... You're better going to a playground, or putting a duvet cover over a couple of chairs at home and making a den.

I keep hoping the next time I go it'll be better, but it isn't.

But the food and staff are ace... So best of luck to them.

Just a short way over Leeds Bridge, scene of the very first moving pictures. A bar, café and restaurant with eclectic food. Engaging and accomplished service. A place to rest, eat, think, read, talk and view some new creations.

Not value for money. Inflated prices £16 for 1 x slice of belly pork , the beef, same price looked like pre sliced and warmed through, certainly an art form getting it that thin. Still hungry when we got home so had a Chicken and mushroom pasty!. Bar prices were same as if in a hotel. No atmosphere, tatty tables and decor, tried too hard with the shabby sheik. Won't be going again.

Great to see so many families there enjoying time together.
However, the food left a lot to be desired and was not good value for money. The Sunday beef advertised as beer rested and medium rare - couldn't taste the beer and the beef was over. The belly pork was extremely disappointing - two paper thin slices for £16.

Nice venue and helpful staff. We had a room to ourselves which was as planned and perfect for our needs. Excellent communication with Holly both before and during the event. Great pre-ordering system allowed everyone to preorder using a web link. Great help thanks for making our family gathering a pleasant one. Food was good too!
