We attended the Yorkshire Wine School wine tasting at the Hotel du Vin in Harrogate. The wine tasting was hosted by Rich who was very knowledgeable in his subject, made us all feel at ease and provided an excellent fun day out. We would thoroughly recommend attending one of these day experiences.

Very enjoyable day at the wine tasting with lunch in Leeds. Laura is very friendly and approachable. Nothing pretentious here, it was a fun day. Generous measures too! I left feeling more confident and knowledgeable about the types of wine I will buy in future but also wanting to learn more.

Excellent evening with a great host and lots of information about red wine, cheese and how to mix the two. All put over without any snobbery which I have come across at other wine tasting events. Would thoroughly recommend this evening to anyone, novice (like me), wine buff or even experienced sommelier.

After receiving a voucher for Yorkshire Wine School for my birthday, my wife and I attended a tasting at the Hotel Du Vin, Harrogate. We had a fantastic day, learning a great deal about wine in a friendly informal atmosphere. Our host, Rich was excellent, his knowledge and enthusiasm made for a great day. We tasted a varied selection of quality, affordable wines with practical, informative information on each one. I found the geography an geology aspects of wine growing very interesting, Rich has a fantastic knowledge and explained everything in an easy to follow way. We had a nice lunch, Hotel Du Vin makes a great venue. From booking our day onwards we cannot fault our Yorkshire Wine School experience.

We arranged a corporate wine tasting session at our office with Laura. I arranged it all with Sarah who super helpful and efficient. I didn't know what to expect having never been to a wine tasting session before but I was immediately put at ease and made to feel comfortable. I was worried that wine tasting could be pretentious and I wouldn't be able to taste it 'properly' but that's not what wine tasting is about as I learned. Laura explained everything so well, I learned loads about how wine is made and the wine was lovely. You don't need to spend a fortune to enjoy wine. We all had a great night, I had really positive feedback from all my colleagues and we're looking to book again soon.

Laura did a fabulous wine tasting experience at our place of work. She was knowledgeable, engaging and a really great host. An interesting and informative night was had. More importantly, you don’t need to be a wine expert, it’s pitched to keep everyone entertained while increasing your knowledge regardless of level. It would be fair to say that during the tasting, minds were blown with the addition of certain foods for a before and after taste of the same wine. Really enjoyable, would definitely recommend this company for corporate or private events listed and look forward to doing something again with them.

Attended WSET level 1 on Saturday just gone at the Radisson Blu in Leeds. Could not recommend highly enough. Rich was a fantastic, patient teacher, with a boundless enthusiasm for wine and an encyclopaedic knowledge of the same. I learnt loads, and was able to try some really nice wines also. The course materials arrived well in advance at home, and were very professional. I’ll definitely be back for level 2!! Many thanks. Evan Griffin.

Great evening, well organised with a very relaxed vibe but every informative. The host was very engaging and chose a good range of wines. They had great knowledge of not only the wines we tasted but also were happy to discuss and explain about specifics or more general queries too. Would definitely do another evening again!!

We attended a cheese and wine night in Sheffield hosted by Rich, who was entertaining and knowledgeable in equal measure. The wines were a well chosen mix with some real little gems that we'd never even heard of before. All were expertly paired with delicious cheeses (mostly local, if I remember correctly). I found the accompanying explanations and background information very interesting and accessible (and at times genuinely surprising) . This was a fun unpretentious wine and cheese evening and I would definitely recommend the YWS to anyone who'd like to discover more about all things wine-related!

Really enjoyed 'Where in the World' event last night where we had to guess the country that produced all 6 great wines that we tasted blind. Laura's knowledge and entertaining style made the evening informative and fun in equal measure. Always great value events with Yorkshire Wine School
