For whatever reason, this market has slowly been going downhill for several years. Once upon a time it had a fantastic variety of stalls. Nowadays it is just a shadow of its former self. This is such a shame, as it could really be good. I only called by this particular time on my from one place to another, and was not really worth it. The last time we visited this market was 2019 and it looks and feels exactly the same. I doubt if i will bother again.

My husband and I were excited to spend some time at the market after visiting Stonehenge. I thought it was going to be a lot of local crafters and artists. It was mostly food — already prepared and things to take home to cook. There were a few stalls with random merch… t-shirts, hats, vintage coats, hunting gear, and a mystical booth. We had fun perusing the wares. We parked in Culver’s St car park. I wish I’d realized there was a closer car park. I don’t know that I would visit the market again unless it was for the mystical shop.

Regular markets take place but visit didn’t overlap with any. Nevertheless it’s a fine space and pleasant to stroll around. There is a modicum of greenery around which adds to the enjoyable ambiance. Alongside is the lovely Guildhall and also the Cenotaph.
