- ianb111Melbourne, Australia855 contributionsAbout the same as our last visit. For whatever reason, this market has slowly been going downhill for several years. Once upon a time it had a fantastic variety of stalls. Nowadays it is just a shadow of its former self. This is such a shame, as it could really be good. I only called by this particular time on my from one place to another, and was not really worth it. The last time we visited this market was 2019 and it looks and feels exactly the same. I doubt if i will bother again.Visited September 2023Travelled soloWritten 10 December 2023
- ChastidyiSeymour, Tennessee716 contributionsOk but not super exciting. My husband and I were excited to spend some time at the market after visiting Stonehenge. I thought it was going to be a lot of local crafters and artists. It was mostly food — already prepared and things to take home to cook. There were a few stalls with random merch… t-shirts, hats, vintage coats, hunting gear, and a mystical booth. We had fun perusing the wares. We parked in Culver’s St car park. I wish I’d realized there was a closer car park. I don’t know that I would visit the market again unless it was for the mystical shop.Visited March 2024Travelled on businessWritten 10 March 2024
- permia64,705 contributionsVibrant spaceRegular markets take place but visit didn’t overlap with any. Nevertheless it’s a fine space and pleasant to stroll around. There is a modicum of greenery around which adds to the enjoyable ambiance. Alongside is the lovely Guildhall and also the Cenotaph.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 14 July 2024

The Market Square int he heart of Salisbury is a lovely and lively place. It is a nice setting with attractive buildings all around plus many cafes, restaurants and shops.
It is worth visiting any time but the public market held in it is especially nice. It has many vendors selling a wide range of things form general daily items like clothes to artisan foods, specialty clothes, etc. We bought some interesting t-shirts, excellent bread, and some nice cheeses for low prices.

As with many towns the market square is the centre of the town. It is a large open area surrounded on all sides by shops, restaurants and cafes. The second day of our visit to Salisbury was market day with loads of stall set up on the square selling cloths, food and general items. Definitely worth a visit if in the area.

Fantastic market which is steeped in history. Lots of stalls with different wares. Could have spent all day there and spent a lot of money.
Best cakes from the bakery stall I’ve tasted in a long time and so fresh.

We came across a lovely outdoor market on Tuesday morning.
Fair prices for fruits/veg.
Well spaced out stalls.
A well balanced variety of items.
Nice energy. Friendly people.

The plaza or market Square is actually quite a significant space, which is very well maintained. Shops, Pubs, Cafes and restaurants all look onto this lively space.
We visited in Nov and just missed out on the Christmas Market, which I expect would be lovely.

We visited this market on a Tuesday and enjoyed our time there. It’s very spacious, stalls are in a very large square surrounded with cafes, bars, pubs etc. Atmosphere was nice and friendly and there is a good mix of fruit, veg., touristy items and local specialities. Good to sit and have a coffee and people watch if that’s your thing!

The markets are Tuesday and Saturdays, loads of stalls to visit and when the market isn’t on, there are lots of shops, bars and restaurants in this area. The market place is well worth a visit in the evening to one of the local restaurants.
