Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a fantastic pub! It's decor is beautifully unique, with wonderful nods to local history, and an eclectic collection of furniture that is plentiful and comfortable. I celebrated my 40th birthday here and had a brilliant night. Caz and her team were really accommodating, friendly and helpful. I was able to hire out the back part of the pub, and then take in my own food to serve. Nowhere else in Salisbury even came close to being able to provide this kind of service. The night went without a hitch, with quick service, great value drinks and a wonderful friendly atmosphere. I would 100% recommend Deacons to anyone wanting to have a party, meet with friends or just have a quiet drink - there is no better pub in Salisbury and I encourage everyone to stop in to experience it!

What a find! We were on a weekend break with friends heading towards a recommended Indian restaurant and happened to stumble across this pub. The lady sorry not sure if landlady or barmaid Caz I think her name was was fantastic. Exceptional service, great atmosphere and good music. We are only sorry we found this pub on the last evening or we would have been there all weekend 😂😂 should we ever be back in Salisbury you will certainly be on our visit list! Thank you for the hospitality x

What a gem of a pub, thanks for recommended by the equally cool Caboose just a few blocks away. We came in for one and stayed well past our sell by date accoding to the headache the next day. The team were super friendly and we became mates for a night with a few locals as well as interlopers like ourselves. Great little independent pub.

Almost a year since last in Salisbury so popped back to Deacons. Much busier than before when Covid restrictions were heavily imposed. No change in the front bar but there is now a pool table in the back room. Good range of ales as before and great staff.

A proper pub, just as it should be. 2 minutes from the station 5/6 minutes from the centre so yes, more of a local but as tourists ourselves we settled nicely. The staff are cheerful and welcoming. Covid measures observed. Front bar has wooden floor and seating, then up a couple of stairs to the back room. This is a large cosy room with sofas. Onto a rear garden. Definately return when next in Salisbury to sample more ales.

I visited, oooh, ten or so times when I was working in the area in Jan and Feb 2020 - a very friendly Pub with good likeable staff - apart from the inevitable 'Spoons' the cheapest beer in Town and cheapest doesn't mean poor either, in fact the opposite - a great place to stop for one or two 'Sherbet's' while on the way to the Station. Need I say any more.......

Cannot tell a lie this is my local drinking spot. It has changed over the last couple of years and is o so much better in the hand of Dave and run by Toby. This is an old fashioned stye local with wooden floors, with plenty of real ales and real characters. No longer having a pool table in the back room it does though give you plenty of seating area to chat and watch the tv (if that turns you on). This is a great place pre dinner, pre theatre, or pre your choice!
Well worth popping into a for a GnT (Bombay of course) and/or a pint of Summer Lighting.
No food except crisps.

Had a fantastic evening at this pub
Great atmosphere and drinks
Friendly staff
Looks tiny when you first walk into the front bar but then there’s a whole other room at the back with a real cosy feel about it
Highly recommend a visit
