About
River Bourne Community Farm is a working farm which is open all year and FREE to enter making it accessible to all. This is a great opportunity to see a working farm and to get up close to the farm’s animals: pigs, sheep, alpacas, donkeys, goats, Highland cattle, ducks and a range of poultry, chicks and small animals such as guinea pigs and rabbits. Children can hand feed the animals for just £1. Feed is available from the Small Animal Barn. The farm has free parking. New additions to the farm Spring 2019 are ‘Two Wise Owls’ who will be bringing their birds of prey the farm. You will be able to get up close to the birds, watch them flying and learn all about them. The farm has a shop and a warm and cosy cafe on site with indoor and outdoor seating areas. Free range eggs and farm meat are available in the farm shop as well as a range of other produce and gift items. The cafe sells hot and cold drinks, cakes and lunches. The shop and cafe are open from Tuesday–Sunday from 10am to 4pm

Lovely and local !
Feb 2020 • Couples
Living in Salisbury we like to support local attractions. We visit the cafe regularly, friendly, attentive staff. Great teas, coffee, light meals and snacks. The farm is free to wander around . No problem parking and also no charge.

Enjoy a cup of tea
Feb 2020
Suddenly decided to visit again when the sun shone! Had tea and cakes in the cafe. Clean, modern with interesting cakes, scones etc. and a choice of coffees and teas. Decaffeinated drinks are available.
The cafe toilet is large enough for a wheelchair or wheeled walker.
The cafe has good space between the tables.
We didn't go round the actual farm on that visit, though we have enjoyed the farm with relatives several times previously. Children love the animals and the farm is constantly developing and adding more areas.
Thank you to the sun for shining between storms! We shall go again.

Rude cafe staff spoilt our visit
Jan 2020 • Family
Went here for an afternoon with family and a 3 and a 4 year old. Enjoyed it although not loads of animals to see but it is free so I’m not complaining.
Bought lunch in the cafe-all tasty. initially the staff were very friendly. When the cafe had emptied out completely, we were playing with our children (not running around or being very loud) and the woman in charge shouted “shush shush keep it down”. We were quite taken aback but did as we were told. Then the chef said in earshot “it’s not a bloody playground”!
This has left a very bitter taste in the mouth. Given this is presumably a family friendly attraction, perhaps the cafe staff should learn to be a little more tolerant of children.

So glad we stumbled on this!
Sep 2019
Walking back to our Airbnb from the city centre, we saw two donkeys. They made us stop and look. Seeing the sign for the farm we checked if they accepted visitors and their hours. We decided to come by before leaving the following day. So glad we did! The place is charming, with staff who are welcoming and very friendly. The amentities are very clean and pleasant. But the animals...what can be said for a mother and daughter who are literally smiling at all the different personalities. 'Trump' was priceless! So accurate, strutting around! And 'Sid and Nancy' -their hair is so appropriate. Alpacas, sheep, goats and cows!! Thoroughly enjoyed the visit!

Fab farm for free!!
Aug 2019 • Family
Fantastic little find. We live about 45 mins away, and only discovered it about 6 months ago. Our children love it, there is so many animals ranging from pigs to birds! You can help yourself to pots of food for them for a 1 pound donation. Everyone there is very pleasent and its really well kept. Seems like they are always expanding. The fact you can take dogs as well is a bonus, as not many farms allow animals. Fantastic how it is free! We have two children aged 5 and 2 and they love it!! 5* from us.

Wow-what a great little find!

We were so pleased to find some thing to do cheap and fun and NOT historical. Salisbury is a beautiful place but more for history.
This little farm ticked lots of boxes-cheap, fun and easy to get to/park etc.

The animals are very well cared for and actually a vet came to visit one while we were there. A lovely little tea room with friendly staff and local produce available to buy.

Highly recommend here!

We love this farm!
Jul 2019 • Family
I often bring my little boy here for a lovely day out. The cafe is very nice and the staff are always accommodating.

We love to see all of the different animals, the farm is looking especially good after a few changes and new outbuildings.

Keep up the good work!

Great place to visit - and it's free!
Jul 2019 • Business
I had not been to the community farm since bringing my late father several years ago and my, how it has changed!
There is so much more here now: donkeys, alpacas, pigs, goats, birds of prey and a range of farm birds including quail and a turkey.
The parking is plentiful and well-designed and laid out, with areas for disabled people nearer the barn and café.
There was plenty of time to tour the farm and we weren't rushed at all.
We had coffees from the café and the staff are helpful and efficient.
It goes without saying that this is a great place for children, but it's also a great place to bring people with disabilities, which is what my three friends and I were doing.
Everyone was made to feel welcome and included, which is a great thing to be able to say about any visitor attraction.
