About
For those visitors to Salisbury either for the day or longer, we offer our "Magical History Tour" to Stonehenge. The Magical History Tour is not just a means of transporting you to Stonehenge but also a journey to explore the very soul of the people who have left such a mark on the landscape and in the psyche of today's visitors. Before reaching the World Heritage Site you will be fully acquainted with the magnitude of the tasks these people undertook. At Old Sarum we stop and admire the fabulous 360 degree views. Originally an Iron-Age Fort, Old Sarum was inhabited by Celts, Romans,Saxons, Vikings and finally Normans. We stop and visit the ruined castle and imagine the chivalrous Knights jousting in the castle grounds, and wenches gossiping by the well....A short drive takes us to Old Harnham Mill close to the spot chosen by John Constable for his iconic painting of Salisbury Cathedral. Set amongst water meadows and away from the City, this is a view seen by too few visitors, which is a pity, because it is simply stunning

Salisbury

Stonehenge Tour from Cruise Ship

890908838

This was one of the best tours we have been on in 25 years of cruising. It started with the ease of making the arrangements via the internet months in advance. The fact that it was a tour to Stonehenge was a big part of it but the personnel that we dealt with, Sebastiano and Steve, were outstanding.

We had 16 people in our group which was formed via Cruise Critic, meaning that we didn’t know each other before the cruise. Sebastiano pulled everything together and made the rest of the arrangements very easy. Since I was the one who began this adventure, I was very relieved to have Seb there to help.

On the day of the tour, Seb was waiting for us right outside the cruise terminal and patiently waited for the rest of our group. The vehicle they provided was roomy and comfortable for the 16 of us. Our driver Steve introduced himself and we were on our way.

As we drove through the countryside towards Salisbury, Seb and Steve kept us entertained with information and history about the area. Seb’s knowledge of the geological history of the area was amazing. The camaraderie between Seb and Steve just added to the entertainment.

In Salisbury we stopped at Salisbury Cathedral. Armed with history of the Cathedral from Seb we explored on our own with ample time to see all, including the Magna Carta. The tickets here were not included.

From there we traveled to Stonehenge where the tickets were included. Once at the welcome center we were escorted to a bus (included) that took us to Stonehenge itself. We were given plenty of time to view and explore. Seb was with us all through the experience. After seeing Stonehenge itself, we had time to visit the museum at the exhibition center before joining Steve and getting back on our van.

Not far from Stonehenge we stopped for lunch at the Stonehenge Inn which was a wonderful choice. We rejoined Seb and Steve for the ride back to the ship. By the time we got back to the ship we felt that we were leaving two new friends.

In summary, I highly recommend booking a tour through Salisbury Stonehenge Tours.

Guide Sebastiano Morabito took us on tours 2 days from Bath to Stonehenge, Asbury, Lacock, and Glastonbury, including forays into the beautiful English countryside. He is an extremely knowledgeable guide about the neolithic structures, the English and Roman history in these parts of the country, how to best experience these amazing historical sites, and get the most of our short visit. He took us to the most magical pub lunch at the Wagon & Horses, where I had the best gluten-free fish and chips meal of my life! The tours were truly a highlight of our trip!

Day trip to Salisbury and Stonehenge. Had a fantastic day with Sebastiano. He was extremely knowledgeable (on some nay topics, not just the places we visited), warm, funny, and a brilliant guide. The Jaguar was beautiful, and very comfortable.

The booking was very well done, Geoff was very helpful and accommodating when we altered the dates.

Thank you for making it a very enjoyable trip.

Had a great day with Sebastiano. He was kind, knowledgable, funny, and an excellent guide. The Jaguar was beautiful, he was on time, and we had a great day. It was packed with everything we had wanted to see and would do it again in a heartbeat.

we had a over night stay at stonehenge camp site, its a lovery camp site near stonehenge its self. They have their shower and toilet blocks open and keep them clean and tidy. They also have a small shop in reception were you can buy your milk, bread and other bits. They were happy to give us details of places to eat near by. We would stay there again .

We went on Sunday and the place was closed. We found out that we could go to the train station and buy a tour ticket, cash only. Once we figured it all out it was great!

Hi Kim, Thanks for putting the review of Stonehenge up, there is only one problem! We are not Stonehenge itself, we are an independent tour company that just happens to have "Stonehenge " in its name. Therefore, it would be great if you could remove your review and repost on the English Heritage/Stonehenge page. Maybe contact us next time you are around and will can arrange a fully guided tour of Stonehenge and the surrounding neolithic areas. We spent our day touring with Geoff. He picked us up at our B &B , exactly on time, in a spotless Jaguar! We began with a drive around Salisbury to get our bearings and heard about many of the historical buildings. He gave us a very informative tour of the cathedral! Our day continued along the same vein with historical facts mixed with interesting stories. We visited Sarum and Stonehenge. It is clear that Geoff enjoys his job and is extremely knowledgeable!

Geoff picked us up at a central London hotel. We journeyed to a working farm Airbnb in the Wiltshire Countryside and ended with a drop off at Heathrow. He consistently arrived on time and helped us with our luggage. Geoff spent about a year helping me plan our trip. Each time I discovered another excursion of interest Geoff would help plan the logistics and answer my questions in a timely manner. The car he drove was spotlessly clean, in great working order, and made me smile as on several occasions he had to park the Jaguar in a field.

There were a few changes to the itinerary once we started touring and Geoff was gracious about adjusting the plans. Several times, because time permitted, he made very good suggestions of sites not on the itinerary to see and arranged visits. Geoff did not make us feel rushed or pressured for time even though our days were packed full of sight-seeing. We visited multiple henges, longbarrows, cursus, museums, cathedrals, Silbury Hill, Old Sarum (fortress), abbeys, gardens, springs, locks, forests, pastures and quick stops for coffee. Geoff treated us to divining rods so we could search for ley lines - so fun. His thoughtfulness was appreciated.

Salisbury, Stonehenge and Sarum Tours initially offered a suggested itinerary which would likely be agreeable to travelers, but we opted to work with Geoff for a tailored agenda. The deposit required to secure the tour was not excessive and easily processed through Paypal. The central office stays in touch with the Driver throughout the day and the car is tracked electronically.

Geoff was familiar with all the local roads and thus we did not, once we left London, suffer through heavy traffic. He was also informative, yet not exhausting with historical facts. Our days were pleasant and enjoyable. We were well satisfied and pleased with him and Salisbury, Stonehenge and Sarum Tours.

The photographs do not do justice to the area. The area is amazing!

We used this company for three days recently. We worked with Geoff to organize our tours, but Ian was our driver/guide. We could not have been more pleased. Ian was always on time and very pleasant. He picked eight of us up at the Southampton cruise terminal and took us to Salisbury Cathedral, Stonehenge, and Windsor before dropping us at our hotel in Central London. The next day he picked us up at the hotel and took us to the Cotswolds and Stratford and then back to our hotel. The third day he arrived at our hotel very early (5 am) to deliver us to Gatwick for our early morning flight back to the US. I would recommend this company and driver for your needs in the London area. We would certainly use them again if we are in that area.

Salisbury Value cars( Geoff )picked us up at the baggage claim area at Gatwick Airport and took us to our hotel in Bath. The same company (David ) picked us up in Bath 5 days later and took us to Southampton.Geoff and David were both on time , both were safe drivers and helpful with luggage. Geoff and David ,because of their tour guiding experience, made the "transfer " trips interesting and informative. And both had good senses of humor. I recommend without hesitation
