This is a lovely are and only a short drive from Maidenhead town centre. Lovely to watch the boats go by, see the canoeists tackling the weir water rapids, have a coffee or wine at the Boulters Lock pub, watch boats going through the lock.

Been going here since I was a kid, love it here, great place to be by the river. Cute little ginea pigs and birds to look at! There's a cafe there too!

Had the place to ourselves for a cloudy 30 minutes or so. We loved the aviary and seeing the Guinea pigs too. Nice and relaxing :)

The island is ideal for walking around with children and summer picnics. It also has a small ice cream stand that also serves drinks. Or you can go to the pub when you’re done walking. One of our favourite spots in town.

A great spot to teach the kids about the lock system for boat transfers and then the island is a hidden gem. The kids love the animals, the space to run around and you can take a seat and watch the boats float by. Very...More

Ray mill island is open every day. There is no one on site permanently and it is run by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. Info and phone numbers are on their website. Hope this helps!
