I had a Harvard Experience with Hurricane Heritage in May. Right from the first contact with Abigail to arrange the flight right up to the flight itself, everyone was extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. The Harvard flights are much less than the flights with the Hurricane but I felt as well treated as if I'd paid for the top experience. When bad weather forced the cancellation of my original date, a new date was quickly arranged.
On the day I was introduced to my pilot Alex who showed me around the aircraft as well as giving a safety briefing. We then headed out south west along the M4 avoiding some heavy rain showers around the area.
The flight was excellent and we even did some aerobatics although my annoyingly weak stomach brought that to an early end. (I wasn't actually ill but there were bags on hand if I had been) As well as experiencing the aircraft and some sight seeing of the local area, I even got to fly the aircraft. I was also able to take a camera with me to take some photos, some of which I included with this review.
The flight was everything I hoped and more. I would really recommend Hurricane Herritage to anyone wanting to experience a Harvard or of course a Hurricane.

This is definitely a once in a lifetime experience and a must do for any enthusiast. The whole team - Abigail, Alex and Mike at hurricane heritage where extremely welcoming, friendly and professional throughout. All of them have a true passion when it comes to aviation and this amazing piece of history. Words can’t truly describe the feeling of sitting behind the Merlin engine soaring over the English countryside. Its humbling and very thought provoking to be sat in the back of the famous hurricane and thinking about the brave service personal that use to fly these.
From the start Abigail made me feel welcomed and completely at ease with a detailed professional safety brief as she answered any of my concerns before making sure I was safely strapped into the aircraft.
Mike is a highly skilled pilot that made me feel completely comfortable throughout the whole flight and his knowledge of the aircraft is unbeatable. He even demonstrated the aircrafts capabilities and let me take control of the aircraft which is a memory that will stay with me for life.
Honestly I couldn’t recommend this experience more, especially with this team which is one of the most professional and friendliest aviation operators that I have had the pleasure of meeting. I would like to thank Abigail, Alex and Mike for an experience of a lifetime.

Located at the historic White Waltham airfield, once HQ of the Air Transport Auxiliary, Hurricane Heritage offers the unprecedented opportunity to fly in the legendary Hawker Hurricane. Currently the only operators of a two seat Hurricane in the world, the team is highly professional. From the time you are received at the office by Abigail, your guide to the aeroplane's safety procedures and also your crew chief, you will enjoy a safe, unintimidating and memorable experience that you will cherish for years to come.
Patrolling the British countryside with RAF roundels on your wings, Merlin engine purring in the background is not a scene you will soon forget. Or if you prefer, ask Mike, your exceptionally skilled pilot to turn up the wick, and show you a glimpse of one of the greatest fighter planes of its time piloted in anger. If you are up to it, you could even spend some time at the controls and experience the Hurricane's handling characteristics for yourself. Mike is also the biggest Hurricane fan I have ever met. From performance to development history to engineering, he seems to know it all, and is quite happy to swap Hurricane trivia to your heart's content.
The club house offers a place to wind down after flight, invoking an RAF bar, filled with pilots swapping flying dits and the sound of piston engines outside the window.
If you have the time, a visit to the Air Transport Auxiliary museum at Maidenhead nearby really completes the experience, telling the story of the brave civilian men and women who flew factory fresh aircraft including the Hurricane to the squadrons of young men who then rode them to war. Look out for the type-written Pilot Notes for the Hurricane, available for you to browse at the museum. That may well come in useful for your flight!

Wow - this must be the ultimate treat for anyone with an aviation interest.
The arrangements were efficiently organised by Abigail, including fitting in our son with a simultaneous Harvard flight at short notice. Our family group was welcomed in the clubhouse with a reserved table ready for a later tasty lunch.
All the pre-flight procedures for flying in a 'War Bird' were scrupulously followed and any queries reassuringly answered.
Flying in formation with the Harvard was the 'icing on the cake' for me. Being only a wing span away from this immaculate aircraft framed by a beautiful blue sky and cloud formations was so memorable. The bonus was that our son could film the Hurricane cavorting around them - super videos and stills! Leaving the Harvard allowed us (Mike!) some optional aerobatics. It was great to experience the pilots view of airshow flying and without feeling queasy! Before and after this was the opportunity to try my hand at gentle turns and keeping straight and level as a (very) apprentice Hurricane pilot. Mikes competence shone through to give complete reassurance throughout the flight.
Returning to base gave the chance to examine the beautifully maintained 'Pegs' on the ground and recount tales of 'daring' with the family.
Thank you Hurricane Heritage, I won't forget this day.

A once in a lifetime experience; flying in the two seat Hurricane is just breathtaking and incredibly surreal. The sounds, the smells, the whole experience; if you're crazy about aviation and warbirds, I cannot recommend this experience enough!
The Hurricane Heritage team are exceptional at what they do. Abigail does a fantastic job at easing you into the experience and getting you kitted out for the flight. She is very thorough and it's clear she enjoys her work and knows her stuff.
Mike is very fun and makes you feel very comfortable and relaxed throughout the flight. It's clear that he loves what he does and any questions you have about the aircraft, he has the answer. The whole flight is about making sure you're having the best time and a few loops and rolls made sure of that.
If I could give more stars I would, but 5 will have to do! Thank you Hurricane Heritage.

My experience with Hawker Heritage from my initial contact with Abigail enquiring about the Hurricane flight to the flight itself and afterwards was absolutely first class. On the day Abigail and Mike the pilot did everything to make me feel relaxed and ensure I got the maximum enjoyment from the experience. Mike was so enthusiastic about the Hurricane and we discussed at length what could be done on my flight. The flight itself was awesome. I was able to take control for long periods even though there was a lot of turbulence. To perform victory rolls, barrel rolls and loop the loops in such an iconic warbird is just the best and I would recommend it to anyone.

I am absolutely delighted by this wonderful experience !
The team at Hurricane Heritage is awesome, they all are kind and happy to do what they do, and they truly do it well.
Behind their smiles hides passion for their aircraft, and a skill level that reaches beyond any fear or expectation anyone could have.
The flight itself, a bespoke one, was very easy to order : after emailing the team, I easily made my "own experience", that is 20mn of formation flight with 2-seater BE505 and single-seater R4118, then 25 mn of solo ( and aerobatics ) flight.
The whole experience begins with an awesome reception, a safety briefing, and then you're strapped in the airplane, and before you realize, you're feeling the 1300HP Merlin V12 engine roaring to make you feel what you asked : "The best flight of your life".
The planes are wonderfully flown by experienced pilots, and their maintenance is strict and follows all the safety rules you could think of.
In a nutshell, the Hurricane Heritage experience is that one thing in your life that you will never forget, not only the flight but also ho heartwarming and kind the people were.
But watch out, leaving the airfield will just make you think that you need another to fly another time on their birds :-)

Over the last two years, my friends and I have flown various sorties with these guys - my friend Lee in the two-seater Hurricane, with my other friend Mike as his wingman for photos in the Harvard, while I also flew in the Harvard and did a photo sortie alongside James Brown in his Mk. I Hurricane R4118….
Last year, we went bigger with more friends - Mike flew in the two-seater Hurricane, with me in the Harvard as the photo wingman, while Lee was with our friend John in the Me108, while our other friend Alex also acted as a camera ship in an Extra 330 XL, plus James came along for the trip in R4118…
This year we went one better - it was my turn in the two-seater Hurricane, with John and Mike in TWO Harvards, my girlfriend Stacey and Mike’s daughter Sophie in the 108, Alex again in the Extra 330 XL, and James again in R4, plus a group also flew in the Dragon Rapide…..
So what do we say about Abigail, James, Mike and the rest of the team? There aren’t enough hours in the day to describe what a brilliant company they are - they out of their way to tailor a bespoke plan around our ideas, all based around the two Hurricanes and who’s flying Pegs lol…we often catch James Brown and Mike Collett at various airshows as the season progresses and they’ve always got time for a chat - nothing is too much trouble…
I fly a lot in Canada with the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, where I’ve been lucky enough to fly on VeRA the Lancaster plus numerous other aircraft - they always make me feel very at home, and I have the same vibe from everyone at Hurricane Heritage and Ultimate Aerobatics down at White Waltham - I call it my ‘Theatre of Dreams….’
We are currently devising a plan for next year’s day with with them - I will see what logistical nightmares we can burden them with this time…..
If your a little unsure, just read all the other reviews and book with them - you’ll never regret it for a single second…
Just a brilliant outfit…..

After being taken to White Waltham for what I thought was a hanger tour my good friend Paul informed me he had kindly arranged for me to go up in the Hurricane something I never thought I would be able to do all of this was kept quiet by my family and Abigail until we where in front of the aircraft , after a safety talk we were strapped into the aircraft they had kindly arranged for Paul to fly along side in the Harvard, We taxied out and lifted of with Mike and James at the controls. The feeling of sitting in let alone flying in a hurricane is so amazing it is hard to describe after flying along side under and over the Harvard we peeled away and I was given a fight to remember even being taken to have a couple of circuits over my own house . I can fully understand why Mike enjoys his job as we have a blue sky with wisps of white cloud to fly along in. Mike kindly let me have control of the stick and explained how the aircraft reacted we retuned to the airfield for what seemed to be a perfect 3 point landing . I am so grateful to Paul for arranging this trip and for Abigail Mike and James making it an Trip to remember . It was a privilege to fly in such and iconic aircraft with a pilot who could handle it so well as well as explain all . anyone thinking of doing this trip so get on the phone and arrange you will not be disappointed. The certificate given at the end of the flight now has pride of place on my office wall.

This is a once in a lifetime experience that went beyond my wildest expectations. The thrill of flying in a Hurricane is awesome, with every moment now etched in my memory. It was an amazing opportunity to gain hands-on experience of the aircraft's handling qualities and then to enjoy Mike's demonstration of its true colours. The whole experience was perfect, with Abigail providing a warm welcome and professional introduction and safety briefing before Mike took over for the flight. His enthusiasm for the aircraft and its heritage is contagious!
Thank you to Mike and Abigail for the most fantastic trip!
