Good and not so so but overall positive
Beautiful location for a race course. Good trip down on the boat from the town, only takes 15 minutes but strangely cash bar only. Quick walk to the course on arrival but sign posting pretty poor and security access very lax. Could easily have just walked in without paying. Plenty of food and drink outlets that were overall good if pricey as expected. Though in fairness not over priced. A number of places ran out of certain drinks. Limited seating unless you are in the restaurant or some form of hospitality. Atmosphere was good and the course was immaculate. Racing views were amazing. Every race we stood on the rail at the finish line. I have been racing a lot and that is a rarity. Perhaps its the tough times at present but I expected it to be a lot fuller for a beautiful spring Public Holiday. Walked back to Windsor which took 25 minutes with the last part on the attractive tow path along the Thames

    Poor organisation
Normally a good night out. Don’t bother buying club passes. Security non existent in grandstand. £66 wasted. Lovely place though. Shame about the poor horses.

    Disastrous pa system
This used to be a great day out but unfortunately it has gone downhill. Have been here 4 or 5 times but not since 2019. We were not given our Club passes at the gate so had to return for them, nor were we given our race cards, and when we asked were spoken to very abruptly by a steward. The public address system is a complete disaster you cannot hear a word wherever you stand. Commentary is an essential part of race day, you don't know where your horse is until they run through the winning post. All in all very disappointing as this is a great event normally what with the river boat trip and the entertainment. Buck your ideas up Windsor, punters will go elsewhere soon.

    Nice Racecourse
Nice little racecourse, lovely view from the 1866 restaurant. A few issues meant I can't give 5 stars - the broccoli was burnt to a crisp, my beef was very fatty and there was sediment in the bottle of white wine we had which meant we had to leave some, and at £30 a bottle that's not good! Great service from the waiting staff though, especially Pippa. We took the river taxi from Windsor town which is a great way to do it! Very relaxing!

Visited Winsor racecourse, booked the 1866 restaurant for 4 of us at a window seat. Excellent seat great view of finish line. We were introduced to our waiter/server for the day Morgan, a very pleasant, polite and attentive young man who made our day even more enjoyable. The food and service were excellent, can't pick fault at all.
It has to be said we have dined in a similar way at York and Cheltenham but this was far superior. We also chatted with a young man called Bevis who answered all our questions in a lovely fashion and was again a pleasure to meet. I would recommend this as an excellent way to experience Windsor races. An absolute great day.

I attended the 2nd of July 2023 meeting at Windsor Racecourse and had the most fabulous day out - I brought the fish and chips deal ticket for £29 that also had a pint and a program included - I got to meet a lot of the Fabulous jockeys before they went for their rides and got a ton of pictures with them - I enjoy the fish and chips which was absolutely delicious - I would highly recommend that you take a day out at Windsor Racecourse & catch the ferry from the center of Windsor for £8.50 return - You will not be disappointed!!!

I have visited Windsor racecourse many times over the years. 2022 we had the delight of using the marquee service which was amazing
2023 the price for the marquee has gone up. This was not good but service was very poor.
No direction given as to where or which marquee we were to sit at.
Two tote ladies trying to put on bets across 3 marquees which means they are very busy. So I queue up at the tote in marquee 1 to be told by the partial hearing tote, you cannot bet here. You need to find one of the 2 tote ladies. I really do not understand why at a racecourse I cannot put a bet on at any tote. Totally unacceptable.

This was our first ever trip to Windsor and it did not disappoint! We got the boat down the Thames to the course which was great, fab way to arrive. The course itself was immaculate. We took advantage of the upgrade offer for a private viewing box which was great. Fab service from Laura on the bar and we met some great people. Charles on reception
was fab too. All staff were great just couldn’t remember all the names. As it was my husband’s birthday he got to pick the best turned out horse in the second race which was a lovely touch and also got to present the prize to the winning owner/trainer. It was awful to see one of the jockeys suffered a nasty injury in the parade ring but staff dealt with it fantastically well and was great to hear after the races that the jockey was doing well. Windsor you were a delight and probably up there with one of the best racing experiences we’ve had!

Looking forward o my first visit to this course, for their season finale. First impressions were good loved the parade ring and winners enclosure area, which also included bar, food stalls and covered marquee area.
I had a ticket for The Jubilee Club Enclosure, there was a grassed area with picnic tables, a bar and also a small pub, The Princes Head. The grandstand over looked the finishing post, a little small and tired.
Whilst I have read people moaning about the prices of food/beer/ wine etc, having been to quite a few race meetings recently, unfortunately the prices charged here are the going rate.

I first visited this racecourse in 2014 and wrote a review then, giving 4 stars.
Visited a few times between then and 2020/Covid and it never seemed to change much. However since the forced Covid break it does not seem quite the same. I have been a couple of times and generally less of a garden party atmosphere. The management blundered by significantly moving the areas of each enclosure, so you had to pay more to get in the main part and parade ring. They quickly had to backtrack due to the rumpus it caused. Also it seems the days when they have music concerts + firework night seem to be chaos. Far more customers than they can cope with.
Although as a regular racegoer, I am used to not getting good value for money when it comes to food/refreshments, but Windsor is charging more for everything ( admission cost, burger price etc ) than most other South East courses, and is similar to the much more prestigious Ascot.
One thing stood out though , £3 for a small packet of crisps !! I politely handed them back........
