Tours start from outside the award winning Visitor Centre at The Savill Garden TW20 0UJ, 10 mins by car from Windsor Castle. Plenty of parking. Savill Building overlooks the garden, providing Beverages, Lunch or Vintage Afternoon Tea. Enjoy exploring this beautiful Royal Park at any time of year, from the comfort of 4/6 seat carriage previously used by Late Lt Col Sir John Miller, Her Majesty the Queens Equerry for 26 years. Your Carriage Driver/Guide provides information about the area as you travel at a relaxing pace on private roads and woodland paths, away from traffic, through a National Collection of Japanese Maples (a riot of colour in Autumn) to a restored 18th Century Lake, hidden away in the heart of The Great Park with a stunning display of waterlilies in Summer and tranquil reflections in Winter. Or go further to The Valley Gardens for a view of Virginia Water or the Punch Bowl in Spring with a spectacular burst of Spring colour (10,000 azaleas). We have cosy lap rugs and umbrellas on board in case they are needed and specialise in Romantic Proposal Rides for Romantic couples, Family Rides and tours for small groups. You can book ahead, and pay on the day, we will confirm your booking the day before and contact you if the weather prevents us operating, as we know you will enjoy the Great Park more on a fine day!
