Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I am not a porcelain person but I did enjoy this visit and found much to interest me.
Set on just two floors the museum is a journey through the origins and development of English porcelain. The audio-guide is helpful though the labelling on exhibits could be better as the number sequence is quite difficult to follow.
If you have time to spare in Worcester then this is worth a visit.

Thank you for sharing your experience, Michael. We aim to make the collections informative and interesting for all visitors. We're glad that you were pleasantly surprised on your visit.
Thank you for your comments on the audio guides and labelling. Shortly after your visit, we installed new audio guides. The numbers are now in sequence and easier to follow on a visit around the Museum. This should be a significant improvement for future visitors.
Thanks again for visiting us and leaving your comments.

I was in Worcester with some spare time and an online search of museums brought up the Royal Worcester museum. I went along and was able to spend around an hour exploring this fascinating collection which starts with how China is made, designed and printed etc. It is a very colourful and superb collection in a spacious and light building.
The staff are very friendly and e shop is excellent. There is also an adjacent café where you can get refreshment after your visit.

I spent almost two hours here and it really was a fascinating museum to visit. The thing that made it for me was the audio guide, I got so much from the visit by using that. The short introductory film was excellent at setting the scene and from there you follow the history and the marvel at the skill and craftsmanship of the artists who created the Royal Worcester pottery. I found I kept going back to look at the work of George Owen which was absolutely stunning. It really an outstanding museum and a credit to all those responsible for curating the displays.

Our aim is to use the audio tour to enhance our visitor's learning experience, so we are pleased that this most certainly worked for you. It had been 10 years since we had last visited and since then there has been lots of money spent on it. We had a lovely welcome, the staff were very informative and helpful. We had an audio guide which was very easy to use. The museum was wonderful with the most amazing displays, we really enjoyed every minute. Thank you very much for a memorable visit.

Thank you for coming to visit the Museum and leaving your review. Yes, the Museum has changed rather a lot since our major refurbishment between 2017 and 2018. Whilst being fresh and modern, our displays pay homage to the magnificent history and heritage of Worcester porcelain.
It's great to hear that you enjoyed the welcome from our staff, the audio guide and the displays themselves. We're delighted to hear it was such an enjoyable, memorable visit.

I went there a week ago with my children, aged 12 and 16. It gives a really good insight in to the history of porcelain industry in Worcester and who ordered sets (King George III and Lord Nelson both did, following visits to the city).
There are some stunningly beautiful vases, tea sets and other ornaments. There's a particularly good audio guide. There's a lift btween floors, an excellent shop (ideal for pre Xmas shopping!) and an excellent cafe in the courtyard next door.
Combine it with a stroll along the River Severn and maybe a visit to the Cathedral (all close together) and you've got a perfect day out.

We pre-booked (it's not cheap) and found a modern and very well presented exhibition with many beautiful objects. We came away feeling less informed than hoped about the nature of porcelain and its special place in Worcester. But a must see if visiting the city, and easily accessed.

Thank you for your comments. We understand that there are lot of different sets of information spread across our Museum due to the different collections. I highly recommend investing in our Annual Pass for £17.50pp, which enables you to visit our Museum as many times as you like. This would hopefully give you a better understanding of our History. We hope to see you again.

This museum is about porcelain but more about the people who designed, painted and produced it. The whole activity is explained and the quality and beauty of what the workers produced is among the best in the world, ever! I an a fam of ceramics but you don't have to be to enjoy this museum. Well worth a visit.

A treat for anyone who wants to enjoy the best collection of Royal Worcester Porcelain and learn everything about it.
The collection is as total as you could get for this well known manufacturer.
The exhibits are really well laid out with text explaining the process of making the porcelain clay, creating various items and showing at least a whole case of items from each main designer.
The staff are excellent and the audio boxes are free and explain everything thoroughly.

Is there a book solely on blush ivory porcelain Royal Worcester
Written 10 September 2018
Not that I am aware, blush ivory seems to be incorporated in the main books on Royal Worcester, however the museum are very friendly and helpful, so I would give them a ring.

Is there any mention in the archives of Worcester Porcelain of a man who was a gilder Mr Fred Goodman? My cousin's wife Anne Oxley was his grandaughter. She has a very old photo of him at showing him at his trade and an article that he actually 'gilded'.
