Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We parked on the other side of the pier and enjoyed 4 hours free parking! Great find while just driving around. We walked toward the Marina, next to the castle, past the war memorial towards south beach. It was a breezy day and the tide was in, so no beach walking for us that day! We then walked through the town, back down to the promenade and back to our camper van. Lovely bracing walk, with a hot coffee on the way for husband!

nice beach clean and tidy..but not much here for the tourist or familys...i found one gift shop... the railway trips worth your time.. lots of places to eat and drink...alot of the sea front buildings are at the moment covered in scaffold and will look great once finished.

Weather was pouring! However it stopped for long enough to get some photos. Picturesque frontages and curved bay.

Lovely calm sea and plenty new there beach for food and drink. Not dog friendly between summer months which is a pain but understandable. The beech is pebbles and rocks rather than sand which can be a bit rough on your feet. Sand drops away quickly so great for swimming.

Pleasantly surprised with Aberystwyth. Only stopped here for a couple of hours but loads to see and do. Will return for a longer stay and to use the facilities, specially the pool hall at the end of the pier. Sea front undergoing a major upgrade to the promenade at the moment.

Oh Aberystwyth please up your game. No Welsh produce shops. Dour, down at heel, just such a depressing place to visit. I had expected a lovely university town but saw a run-down 1960s Welsh town.

Large rounded stone beach of grey stone and no sand to get into everything. Dogs only aloud on the beach certain times of the year.

After driving down the coast of Wales from Harlech, Barmouth, Penmaenpool, Aberdovey, Ynyslas Beach...all beautiful places in their own way, we thought we would pop down to Aberystwyth as I haven't been there since the 70s with my folks whilst on holiday in New Quay.
I was mortified by the state of the place, aweful grey dingy beach, run down buildings, litter & nub ends, the rest of the town was depressing to say the least, everywhere was tatty, charity shops everywhere, which I don't mind a few of as they can be good. We had fish & chips on the pier which was ok tbh, but that was it. We couldn't wait to leave.
This must be Wales Worst town, at least Blackpool has tidied itself up with the council spending money on revamping it.
Wish we had bypassed it & gone on to New Quay.

Dirty.
The promenade is disgusting, seagull’s dirt, litter, debris from the sea and various other left overs from uncaring pet owners.
The streets are no better.
Careful where you walk
