Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Not the largest church but attractive and historical in its own right. Local information inside and around is helpful

Informative and friendly. Get your local visitor information here but do watch the opening hours, they're a bit restrictive.

we visited this unexpectedly after walking around the castle and museum and loved it here.
My 10 year old loved the exhibition upstairs and the game on the wall

Difficult to review in its own right as it is not very big, but does include friendly & helpful Tourist Information office/person. Not really enough for a special visit on it's own.
Therefore, I have rated as part of a town tour to include Priory, Castle, High St, Market, etc. There is enough to warrant a visit and if you still have time there is Sugar Loaf & The Skirrid very close.
There is also a Wetherspoons for a cheap pint - each evening I looked forward to my very cold pint of Thatcher's Gold cider.

Staff willing to tell the stories behind the tapestry 'sections' even when 'tours' are not booked, couldn't be more helpful. An interactive display/educational area full of history of this millennia-old historical town. The priory is a short walk over with gardens inbetween. Unfortunately, the cafe advertised online as the 'Foodhall' is still there but closed to visitors (so it shouldn't still be online - I took a rating off because of this).
Be aware that if needing a taxi from the station, 'A' cabs have taxis outside, but are highly unlikely to offer you a service back if you can't walk that mile. The experiences of several people in my group was rudeness, even worse when questioned about this, no pleasant customer service & outright shouting down the phone. Whilst the tithe barn/abbey state that there are plenty of taxis to bring you there, I saw only this firm's at the station & they were very unwilling to bring people back & very hostile about it too. The tithe barn should maybe try the return service anonymously before stating that there are 'plenty of taxis'.
Also, another taxi company eventually took us to the station, there were 'A' cabs sat waiting at the station, BUT the rude operator had told people in our group that "none were available". This has put me off a return visit or recommending it to those without cars unfortunately.

Nicely renovated tithe barn adjacent to the Priory Church, with a comprehensive history of Abergavenny.
Also includes an interesting tapestry produced by locals to commemorate the millennium.
Staff inside were knowledgable, friendly and helpful.
Most of the items are upstairs, but there is a lift in addition to stairs. No toilets however.

The Tithe Barn is an old stone structure with some very bendy walls. It houses the Tourist Information centre and a cafe which was unfortunately closed when we visited.

I'm sorry I was unable to answer in time for your proposed visit.
However, my visit was some time before your proposed visit & may have changed seasonally (we visited on a Wednesday).
May I suggest that any queries about opening times (about any place) be addressed directly (phone number's are online as are in-depth details).
