Stunning View Of This Man Made Weir From The Car Park
Stayed in Llangollen for the first week of Easter as a three generation family. Lovely place on the river with plenty of places to eat and ideally placed for reaching some lovely places in North Wales including the Horseshoe Falls. Car park within a few steps of a stunning view of this man made falls. Dogs enjoyed a paddle and then the walk to Llantysilio Church. Children enjoyed the meadow and playing on the hill. Lovely area for a picnic.

    Well worth the drive out
A lovely area for walks, scenery, swimming and picnics. The River Dee is harnessed by Telford's impressive weir and is juxtaposed with the Grand Shropshire Canal. Lovely walks and the ancient Llantysilio Parish Church all nestled in this impressive valley.

    A pleasant time
This place was quite close to our hotel & if fit could walk there in about 30-40mins - otherwise a car is needed (5mins). We spent about 1hr 30min there & it was spectacular. Could have spent longer but wanted to visit a few other places. Can’t remember cost for parking but it was reasonable. They do have public toilets which were clean.

    Lovely short walk.
Lovely short walk (you can make it longer if you wish to walk further along the canal). Quite a steep hill down to the falls, so plan good shoes (no white shoes). There are cows in the field so dogs to be kept on lid. Plenty of place for a picnic, but better come with blankets.

    Llangollen & The Horseshoe Falls
Llangollen is a lovely place. It has shops, cafes, pubs, a steam railway, a canal, a river, a town museum, a motor museum, and castle ruins. We walked along the towpath to the horsehoe falls and the chain-bridge. Lovely walk along the canal, and the falls are beautiful. Nice place for a picnic.

The falls are amazing especially after the recent rain. Not traditional deep or high falls but different by their horseshoe shape. The fast flow of the water is amazing. Definitely worth a visit

Attractive falls and interesting historically as they mark the beginning of the canal. Part of a Llangollen visit which must include a walk or barge trip across the canal aqueduct and a drive up to the Horseshoe Pass.

We walked along the canal path from Llangollen, which was lovely and actually quite quiet considering the numbers in town. Interesting to see the man made falls, but nothing competes with the river rapids themselves - which you see at various points in the walk from town.

Beautiful scenery. Lovely as long as the weather is good. It's a steep walk down to the falls. Views are best from above by the gate. You will get your steps in!

Stop off on way home from the aqueduct.
Pretty little village with some nice souvenir shops.
Parking on the council car parks was reasonable but the 40p to take a wee is literally taking the proverbial, especially when the toilets are in need of a refurb and stank of excrement.
Beautiful river to walk along and very picturesque.
