Lovely place to visit, beautiful views and very peaceful. £2 each entry which is fine for 2 of us and I assume used to keep the place looking nice. Steps down for better angles and so many nice pictures to take

Swallow Falls are located a little outside Betws-y-Coed. You can park in a layby by the side of the road. You have to pay a small charge and go through a turnstile to access the falls. From there it is a short walk down to the falls. There is a viewing are where you can see the falls and take your photos. Very scenic.

Our walk to Swallow Falls was lovely, we started from Betws Y Coed walked up the river and continued through the forest. Approx 12k there and back. The walk was probably the best, make the most of it and don’t drive.
We were extremely disappointed to learn we had to pay to see the falls which was £2 per person. The guy on the desk was also so so confusing, he was trying to tell us that one person could go through whilst the other waited until he opened the gate for the second person to walk through with the dogs.
Sounds simple but he was making it really confusing resulting in other people becoming angry as they thought he was saying they couldn’t enter with their dog when other people were going in with theirs. All a bit silly yes, but very confusing at the time.

Very well organised with payment by the turnstile. Not too busy and we were able to get a great view. Looking for to viewing the winter after more rain!!

Too expensive to see a waterfall. We visited with the family, cost us £10 to basically see water running down some rocks. 15 minutes and we were back in the car.

This is an easy waterfall with a fee to pay to walk down a short staircase to a viewing platform so not what were ex[ecting . Nice falls but you are just gated in with bars so you just see it from a distance - its not worth a special trip and hardly worth the 14 pound we paid in total for all of us to go in to see it for 15 minutes- 3 adults / 4 kids!.

I absolutely love a visit to the falls and I go whenever I visit North Wales.
Entry is £2 via a turnstile which is a bit snug. There is a gate in between the entry and exit turnstiles but I have never tried to use it so am unsure if it works.
There are three levels that you can view the falls from but the middle and bottom levels can only be accessed by steps which are steep at times and sometimes a little slippy if wet.
This is a powerful waterfall, especially after some rain and very impressive. Most people I would say spend about half an hour here taking it all in but you couldn't make a day out of it.
There are no facilities here.
Parking is in a lay-by and it's not usually very busy whenever I have visited before which is between March and June.
There was a pub opposite but it has closed down on this visit and nothing says what the plans for the site are.

Parked for free at Ty’n Llwyn so we could include a walk in our morning trip. We followed a path downhill (very boggy at times) through the trees and had to climb over / round a few fallers too which we expected after all the storms! We saw a few tree surgeons working so they’ll probably be cleared soon.
Stunning waterfall in full flow from the two north side viewpoints (both free unlike the other side) and a short, steep walk back up via the road from Ty Hyll to our starting point.
I wouldn’t go to just see the falls, as there are so many walking / bike routes nearby, but that’s just personal choice.

We walked the 2 miles from the village to get here, only to find we had to pay £4 for us both to see. It was lovely but we expected more for that amount like a chance to walk along the river. There is no path for that, just steps down to the waterfall. We're pretty disgusted at the local council charging for what is a natural resource, when others are free!

Absolutely worth the £2 each entry fee. But would not have bothered if it was not at full flow .
You can get really close to lower area which was exhilarating at full flow. Much better than the pictures shown by trip advisor.

are the falls handicap accessible

Hi, sorry I missed your question. No they are not accessible to disabled users sadly.
There are steep slopes and many steps up and down. These are often wet and slippy from the spray of the falls.
Hope this helps

Hi
I want to see these waterfalls on route elsewhere and wondered whats the closest/best place to park, and how long does it take to walk down to the Falls?

You park on a lay-by just off the main road. There is an entrance booth that you pass through (which is visible from the lay-by) once you pay a small entrance fee. From there it is a few minutes walk down the steps to view the falls. Hope that helps 😀

Hi, is Swallow falls pram friendly?
Amanda R

Not if you walk there which is what we did; you may be able to drive there and access it from the road side of the river.

No is the answer, unfortunately. if you have a couple of strapping people with you that are prepared to lift you up and down every step then maybe. But No is the reality sadly

Where is best to start from for a walk to/from Swallow Falls?

I would start at the Ugly house and walk along the north of the river for about 3 quarters if a mile and avoid the £2 admission fee. We walked another 2 miles into Betws coed and Camden back on the S2 sherpa bus.

You will be absolutely fine. It is few yards away from the parking. Inside, you may have to walk a bit on uneven roads but the distance should not be a problem.
Can I bring my dog?
Sharon B

Absolutely, there's no one to restrict you from that (though it might be a trick getting a dog through the pay turnstile without paying separately) - keep the dog on a leash, the stairs are rather tall, and can be slippery.
