Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I've played Wrexham GC twice now. The course is good, both in summer and winter. However, both visits have left me frustrated due to pedantic and unpleasant members who are willing to challenge you on none-issues. I have left today thinking I don't want to go back because it will happen again.
Today, I was challenged by a member for wearing jeans...when I was wearing chinos. He told me I was unable to play because I had jeans on. I felt I had to prove to him the material on them to appease the member. I was able to convince him but he then went on to say that he doesn't see why I would play in them because they look too tight. It was disappointing to hear and non of his business what appropriate golf attire I wear.
We are in 2023, and I accept clubs still have dress codes which I will always respect, however in this case, it left a bitter taste, it felt outdated and bemused me. I am a 2 handicap, and have played the game for 17 years. I enjoy wearing chinos on the course and always have but only at Wrexham does it appear to be a problem. As I say, it isn't the first time I've experienced unpleasant behaviour at Wrexham GC.
There are a lot of good courses in the area with more welcoming members. I would suggest playing there.

We were looking for something different for my sons birthday party.
The children loved it!
Lewis took the children for an hours golf lesson then we had food in the club house and the children played.
They really enjoyed themselves and the food is always great!
Thank you for looking after us!

Now is the time to take advantage of this testing course, where every hole is different. Not too long for the average player, but a good test of your ability. Fairways and greens are immaculate. The rough is punishing and will swallow up misplaced drives on a few holes.

Had small breakfast ( called The 9 hole) here recently. Beautifully cooked really hot even the beans! Toast lovely and thick. Really reasonably priced as well.
The 18 hole breakfast much larger is also available.
Snacks are also available with home made chunky chips
Thank you

This course is fantastic. Greens are always great and the course in immaculate condition. Provides a good test of golf from the back tees. Course doesn't have many outstanding holes, individually, but each has its own bit of character which blend well together. It's a hilly course. I'd recommend a good nights sleep before you play to enjoy to it's potential.

Visited at the weekend ... course in excellent condition for this time of year thoroughly enjoyed the course. Clubhouse was dated but adequate, prices were reasonable. Staff were very accommodating and helpful; we didn't receive a warm welcome from the members though which was disappointing, but we had heard this was the case here from other clubs we have visited in the area. Probably would not come back which is a shame because the course itself was excellent, members moaning let it down. Be aware they have a dress code no side pockets on trousers !!!

I went with a society and as always the course was in a first class condition the club house is expensive but you expect that from a big hotel

Course was decent, but we were treated like second class citizens. Their stuffy clothing policy (no side pockets on shorts, must wear white socks if wearing shorts, you must ensure your top is tucked in at all times), is so outdated it is hard to believe. I have played at far bigger courses, St Andrews, Lytham, etc, where you would assume they may be stuffy, but they weren't. It's such a shame as I can't recommend the club to anyone with their stance.

A challenging course just outside Wrexham on the Holt Road with it's entrance just off the second roundabout having left the483. The carpark has ample parking space, and the first tee is located to the side just past the Pro shop. Changing with showers is available with key combination available from the shop.
The members are helpful and friendly, a good sized 19th welcomes you, with a cheerful steward is eager to help.
The first is a par 5, all greens are in beautiful condition, and are obviously tended with pride. The course was designed by James Braid, and follow the natural contours of the land, well worth a visit, you may even become a member as I have done.
