Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Poor customer service. I have been trying to get a refund from this company since the end of lockdown.I sent emails and left phone messages explaining the my illness has now progressed to the point I cannot take part in the event so therefore I want the refund back to my card My phone calls have been ignored and only an automated reply on the Emails.
Very poor

This was bought as a present and initially we where very apprehensive of the experience. Since the Motor Safari was gift we overlooked the content of the conditions (Our error). Having previously purchased driving expereinces through Buy a gift etc the vouchers tend to last for the entire period of time until expiration. THis was a different and the information embedded within the small print stated that the we had to book the experience within 6 months of purchase. Unfortuntaly we did not realise this and ended up havng to pay an extension fee of £18.97. If it wasnt a present we probably would have cancelled as I believe that if a voucher is valid for 12 months you should be able to book without any additional fees within this time period (something for Motor Safari to reconsider as a number of the negative reviews on Trip advisor are related to this topic). But that aside we booked and attended with a reasonably open mind. I must say the actual experience was fantastic. Peter gave a very indepth overview of the vehicle and a breakdown of what everything did and why. The calmness of Peters instructions & persona was excellent and we had the added bonus of both wife and daugther joining in on the experience as passengers, which was such a laugh. We all came away extremely happy with the tution and would highly recommend the opportunity to take part this off road experience again.

Me and my husband have visited motor safari on a few occasions now for special occasions (mainly his birthday) and we absolutely love it ! Not only is it fun but you also get to learn alot about driving a vehicle off road. We have used both the off road vehicles provided and my husband also got to drive his pickup on the tracks as well which he really enjoyed. It's a go to gift for me to buy him now as I know we both really enjoy going here for the off-road experience

Initially started out party of two, which soon became 4 good friend's.
On the day we all had a joint tuition which lasted well over 2 hour's.
The instructer (Peter) was very professional and clearly new his stuff!
I would easy recommend the whole experience!
Many thanks!

It has been a while since my last 4x4 experience at Motor Safari, but once again Iv’e had a amazing time. The instructors were fantastic as before, and has left me with the hunger for more. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic off-roading adventure!

I’ve been to a few different 4x4 centres and this one stands out as the best. Great facilities and the staff go above and beyond to ensure that you get the day to remember.

I received this Groupon experience as a birthday present from my Mother, she was so excited to have booked something different that sounded really good, and I was also looking forward to 4x4, archery and rifle shooting. This cost £79 once £20 had been added for something, I am not quite sure what it was. We added a guest on for a further £59, £138 in total.

I am not going to go into a big essay here, I think it would be much better for me to let people know what we received for £138, that way anybody who is interested in booking this can be aware of my true account of what you can expect to get for your money.

Me:
3 x practice arrows, 3 x scoring arrows = 6 x arrows shot
3 x rifle shots at cans, 3 x rifle shots at paper target = 6 x pellets shot
3 minutes ( yes 3 minutes ) actually driving the 4x4

Guest:
3 x practice arrows, 3 x scoring arrows = 6 x arrows shot
3 x rifle shots at cans, 3 x rifle shots at paper target = 6 x pellets shot
5 minutes actually driving the 4x4, 2 minutes more than me due to him driving back to the start.

Above is a completely honest assesment of our direct activity involvment for a cost of £138.

I have given 2 stars due to the facts, the guy was nice enough and knew what he talking about and we both did enjoy the actual activities albeit extremely limited. This session was just the 2 of us and the instructor, and was 1hr 15mins, yet listed above was the extent of our participation?

I have emailed the instructor ( who is the owner ) to pass on my thoughts, i received his reply which i don't care to go in to really as it was in parts condescending and basically consisted of justification, smoke screening and self absorbance, the bottom line i took from it was, we've had your money, if you can find anything cheaper let us know and we will price match.

The guy likes to tell you how rare bad reviews are, yet on tripadvisor alone, before i wrote this review, there was 83 reviews of which 10 were poor / terrible; 8.3% ?

As mentioned the owner was nice enough and the activities are obviously appealing to most, but overall it was a massive waste of money. I hope this helps people to have a truthful insight in to Motor Safari before deciding on a visit.

I booked a 4x4 driving experience for on the day of my 30th birthday. I thought it would be a fun thing to do.

I arrived at the venue 15 minutes before the booking (was asked to get there 5 minutes before) and found the gates locked and no one there. I phoned Motor Safaris landline and got through on the second attempt. By this point it was 1pm and my 'experience' should have commenced.

I told Peter Morgan there was no one here and he said he'd ring me back. A few minutes later he phoned and said the instructor had broken down and couldn't make the booking. He said he was 15-20 minutes away and said he could come over and do the booking for me. It was 1.08pm at this point so it would have started half an late if I had waited and unsurprisingly I had other plans for my birthday! I declined his 'offer' and asked him to refund me.

He has said this has never happened in 30 years. Unfortunately I don't believe for one second there was a breakdown. I believe Peter failed to arrange an instructor at all and only realised when I called him. If an instructor had broken down en route to the venue surely the first thing to do would be to call your employer and inform them so alternative arrangements could be made for the client? When I phoned Peter didn't know the instructor had 'broken down' so clearly such a communication hadn't taken place.

In a text message on the day of the booking I was offered a complimentary driving experience as an apology.

In a subsequent email the complimentary offer was qualified as a 30 minute driving experience. The 'venue' is an hour from me. Four hours of driving in total for 30 minutes? Laughable.

Utter farce, best avoided.

At least I got my refund.
