Booked for stag party, a great experience for all with an impressive drive area to learn and test all your off-roading skills. Knowledgeable staff who have the patience to help turn a none or novice off-road a confident 4x4 driver.

This was bought as a present and initially we where very apprehensive of the experience. Since the Motor Safari was gift we overlooked the content of the conditions (Our error). Having previously purchased driving expereinces through Buy a gift etc the vouchers tend to last for the entire period of time until expiration. THis was a different and the information embedded within the small print stated that the we had to book the experience within 6 months of purchase. Unfortuntaly we did not realise this and ended up havng to pay an extension fee of £18.97. If it wasnt a present we probably would have cancelled as I believe that if a voucher is valid for 12 months you should be able to book without any additional fees within this time period (something for Motor Safari to reconsider as a number of the negative reviews on Trip advisor are related to this topic). But that aside we booked and attended with a reasonably open mind. I must say the actual experience was fantastic. Peter gave a very indepth overview of the vehicle and a breakdown of what everything did and why. The calmness of Peters instructions & persona was excellent and we had the added bonus of both wife and daugther joining in on the experience as passengers, which was such a laugh. We all came away extremely happy with the tution and would highly recommend the opportunity to take part this off road experience again.

This could be very lengthy but my reply to a very lengthy email will give you the gist of things.
The value for money is shocking!!!!!
The customer service from Peter is shocking!!!
The whole experience was shocking!!!!
And I am sure he will spout his 0000.00000001111% customer complaints and who he has had visit. A load of old **** (but be very blunt)
My reply....
Thank you for your very lengthy reply, some of which quite candidly was patronising to say the least.
May I ask you a simple question?
1. For a 3 1/2 hour experience, do you believe you would get 'value for money' for the following:
a. Paintball shooting (meant to be rifle shooting!) - 42 paintballs @ approx. 3 seconds per ball - being nice! - so 2 mins
b. 4 x 4 experience - 1 x lap driving for 7 mins
c. 15 arrows at approx.10 seconds each - 2.10 mins
So for just over 10 mins of action, out of 3 1/2 hours.... That's £5.90 per minute, of very poor action!? I am sure you will agree that this is NOT value for money! Imagine if we had paid FULL price!
To address your preconception that I arrived on the day 'aggrieved'; which you believe may have clouded my opinion... well I was aggrieved at the point of emailing you to discuss the over-charging admin fee, but that was an emotion and emotions are subject to change. I came into the day with the belief that I will be fully happy should I receive a great experience and like most people think, value for money!
On another note to suggest you get approx 0.01% of complaints - I can only agree that you may, as I have to take your figures as factual as I have zero access to your logs, however I have zero doubt that if someone played a full days paintball and/or a full 4 x 4 experience learning, it may be a different story. But maybe if I was to take into account the % on www.tripadvisor.co.uk, your poor rating % is at 8.7% - WAAAY higher than that of your suggested. So I really do question the integrity of your figures??!
But anyway, I digress .....
In relation to the complaints on the day, well surely as a British man and also someone who works in a customer service based business, you would be aware of the psychology of a person! It is proven that many people do not feel comfortable expressing their discontent face to face and would prefer (in the age of the internet!) to do this online via email, or if not tech savvy, a strongly worded letter. Its part of the route of least resistance and confrontation - things we all avoid.
On the last note, I do want to say (and re-iterate) that your staff tried their best with such limiting factors.
I am sure you will be fully understanding and in agreement with the calculations and facts stated above, and will provide a refund on your service.
Thank you in advance,

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, IF SO DO SO AT YOUR PERIL!
the intial booking was easy, quite happy to take my money and so pleasantly!
Circumstances changed and i asked for a refund-i was lied to by the MD Peter Morgan, he told me he had to speak to his bosses-HE IS THE BOSS!
The company had not even got the courtesy to respond to an e-mail from 3 weeks ago and when i called he said he was looking in to it and if i hassled him the answer would be no to the refund, but I thought he was not the boss??? Clearly this is an unprofessional company, who do not pride them selfs on repeat business and recomendation, just a company who grab your money and run! i can not also believe that they advertise with TOP GEAR, BBC and other BLUE CHIP companys, would such high end programmes and Manufacturers want to be associated with this company????

I purchased a voucher for my son's 21st birthday direct with Motor Safari last March. The deal was valid for 12 months. Due to our family having had a terrible year (son 2 badly broken limbs and parents seriously ill etc etc) I only contacted them a couple of weeks ago to book sometime this month, only to be told we should have booked within 6 months and the voucher was now invalid. I had never received the voucher stating this. It appears it must have gone into spam as a recent email sent by them did. Even after explaining the whole situation Peter refused to honour the voucher - saying it was like missing a train, and when I tried to reason with him by explaining our exceptional circumstances, he told me I was not being courteous and then put the phone down. Not impressed! £109 down the drain. So beware!

So i have a low income and we have few days out or treats really. It was my husbands birthday and so first time i a onmg itme i decidd to treat him t something special. The 4x4 experience day... Well we set off with plenty of time and whern we arrived near to the motor safari we culdnt decifr the directions hthe sat nav was not takling us teh correct w y time was running short and i called the motor safaro office to let them know we were struggling with findingh teh place. The lady who ansswered was abrupt, unhelpful and her conveluted ddirections which were absolutley ridiculous pass a mint green house, past a tiny memorial you might not see ....?? her words ... i was trying o get a woprd in edgways to say where we actually were so thta she scould give us some kind of understandable direcvtions or at least pass teh phone to somewone who knows how to give directions. Instead she shouted diown teh phone to me to be quiet and let her speak and then maybe we would find the place !!!! Nice .... great phone manner and even worse her abrupt and nasty manner left me kin tears on the phone after what was supposed to be a treat ! I was barked at down the phone .... Our starter motor gave in and we were stranded in snow not far it seems from the destination where we at and waited 2 hours for RAC .. .motor safari then stopped answering the phone and when i emailed to let them know i never received any correspondence they took all the money and no explanation or apology was given .
...i suggest if you want to go 4x4 experience go to somewhere where they know the directions and they are more professional caring and have some courtesy to call or at least return on email .....more than hundred pounds down the drain ! disgusted quite frankly ...... Peter Morgan the man who dealt with all the bookings an emails has now completely ignored any correspondence not even an acknowledgment or receiving them ..... !

never actually got here!
despite the fact that they knew it was a birthday present, that there was a lack of communication their end, I'd sent several emails and phone calls over several weeks to receive very little communication back and when i did finally manage to get something booked for a week later after demanding a refund if i didn't hear from them because i was getting sick of no responses.
When i broke down 2 hours before the experience we contacted them straight away and sent an email to them straight away as requested. They later informed me they had a car and driver ( along with an earlier email saying they had several slots free after us mind) told me there was nothing they could do and after we sent an email on the Saturday like asked on the Tuesday i rang to find out what was going on with my voucher and was informed NOW that i have informed them they would see what they could do and emailed back with £20 credit to account if i booked before September, even though i had sent them an email on the Saturday!
Avoid at all costs, its been a wasted present, poor customer services and dont expect a phone call back any time soon.

Dear Emma Clark,
I was sorry to hear that your partners car had broken down on the way to us.
You had booked a 30 minute VIP 4x4 Experience, for 12.30 on Saturday 29th of July.
Thank you for the e mail at 11.08 am, on the 29th of July, notifying us that you would not be able to make it to your booking.
In your scathing 1 star review you state that you “never actually got there” i.e. you appear to be holding us to be totally responsible for your car breaking down and having missed your booking!
Your review is in stark contrast to the many 5 star reviews that are the usual response of our customers.
I have attached – below – my e mail on 1st of August, explaining the situation and as a gesture of good will, offering you a substantial credit of £20. Note. This amounts to more than 50% of the cost of booking a replacement 4x4 Experience.
You go on to make a number of unpleasant allegations and insinuation:
We responded promptly to ALL the e mails you sent us.
We replied to your phone calls, these took us to your workplace reception.
The e mail trail is very clear and shows us promptly responding to every e mail you sent.
We responding to your difficulties in receiving our replies, by called you at the number you left us - your work place - to leave messages. We also copied the booking e mail to the relative who had purchased the voucher for you, in an endeavour to make sure you were receiving everything.
Fortunately, the problem resolved itself at your end, once we had taken these steps.
You had booked an VIP 4x4 Driving Experience. We had booked you a luxury 4x4 and an Instructor for your exclusive use. Regrettably, last minute cancelation or a non-arrival on the day, means that the Instructor, 4x4 and time slot are left vacant, hence the last minute cancelation cost, as detailed prominently on your Confirmation of Booking Ticket.
Understanding your disappointment however and as a gesture of good will, we were happy to credit your account with £20. This is more than 50% of the cost of booking a replacement 4x4 Experience.
Once again, I can only express my regret that – through no fault of ours – you were not able to arrive for your booking.
We hope that you reconsider your rather harsh review and we continue to extend the offer of a £20 credit, should you wish to re-book in the future.
We can only hope that anyone reading this 1 Star review, will take into consideration the vast majority of 5 Star reviews which we normally receive.
Yours sincerely,
P Morgan – Director

I was given a session with 4x4 and quad bikes for my birthday which I took a short while ago with a friend - paying for some extra time to ensure we both got a good go at the 4x4 session as we both wanted to a good amount. The instructor was very good, calm and kept us from making any grand errors whilst still having so much fun we both spent our time grinning from ear to ear and wanting more. The site has a good mix of surfaces as a result of its industrial past with various gradients and challenges - good not just for beginners but also the more experienced to practice in a safe environment - they have never an injury whilst doing their 4x4 and quad activities - you will be in safe hands and pushing the bounderies of your comfort zone as a driver whilst having great fun.

Certainly a different afternoon activity but over rated even via Groupon. Instructors were good but company rather money grabbing for what was offered. 1 go only in each car with some archery and paint balling type activities. Not even a drink on arrival or return as this also had to be paid for! Definitely a money orientated venture with instructors who would do well to go and set up themselves - more enthusiasm than the owners.

What is the recommended time slot to book to get the most out of this experience, is 1 hour long enough or would you recommend longer to get all the 'good bits'?

You a have a Groupon experience advertised how much driving time does that provide. It's just that I've seen some where it's 5 minutes which is pointless. And is there an excess on the insurance again seen some that are ridiculous
