Great fun

Lovely big house - only part opened when we visited as it was off season but what we did see was very interesting and well presented. Helpful volunteers.

Fabulous day here with friends and the dog. We began by having a lovely walk the dog was fed and watered and then left to sleep it all off, while we took in a tour of the house and formal gardens ending our time at Erddig in the restaurant where we enjoyed a good meal..I would recommend this National Trust property... This is one of my favourite places. I visit with family and friends of all generations, either for special events or just to picnic in the gardens. Wolf's Den is a fabulous space for children to play and the Apple Festival in October is amazing. Not to be missed if you are anywhere in the area.

Had a lovely visit with our 8 month old puppy - was made to feel very welcome with a dog and was offered lots of different walk options although not allowed in formal gardens. After a great traipse around and with our puppy asleep in the car we then enjoyed wandering around the buildings and formal gardens and seeing the... More

This fabulous National Trust property is like a time capsule for an age long gone. Not as grande as 'Dowton' but full of atmosphere and a great sense of history. The house, gardens and grounds are equally appealing and there is something to do whatever the weather. The staff are very friendly and work hard to incorporate tasteful attractions and... More

Everything about the place is great. Even the volunteers! Normally at N.T. places they either get on my nerves by over telling you stuff or don't know the answers to queries. Here the all seem well informed but don't over burden you with too much info. Cafe /restaraunt pleasantly efficient. House and gardens very interesting and play/adventure area for children... More

Excellent, what a lovely idea. We were lucky enough to be invited to the opening of this event, really well done and great Alice in Wonderland things all around this wonderful garden. Well worth a visit.

Gentile family residence, which had seen better times but was sadly neglected by the time the NT got involved but like the proverbial Phoenix it has arisen once more ,to enhance us with it's history. Come and explore the 1200 acre estate and gardens, see the draught horses dressed in their harness, see how they sawed tree trunks to make... More

Building and grounds worth a visit. You need to be able to take several flights of stairs if visiting the house, good walking shoes if doing the grounds. There's a restaurant in the yard, bit pricey. The tea shop on the edge of the yard can be accessed by both paying visitors and non-paying visitors, as the shop has two... More
