Lovely grounds

Erddig was lovely with gorgeous grounds even in February but much of the house was under refurbishment so will need another trip as I'm sure it'll be worth it!

Beautiful scenery and enjoyable walks around the estate and in the woods. The house is also in a lovely setting with interesting family history. The cup and saucer is also an interesting feature

There is lots to do here and something for almost everyone. The house is very interesting with a lot more 'below stairs' to see than normal as well as the usual 'state' rooms. There are also lots of interesting walks in the grounds and a very interesting walled garden with formal avenue and pond. Of course there is the NT... More

Erddig hall and the surrounding area is lovely. Firstly the house is maintained and presented so well. It's quite reassuring that the servants were treated so well and the photographs show some of the people who were in service across the years. The grounds of the house are well presented and the staff are knowledgeable and intuitive if required. As... More

We came here with pour national trust passes. Unfortunately the house wasn't open until spring but you could still access the gardens. We did a 3.5 mile walk around the grounds suggested on the guide map. The grounds are lovely with streams running through them and the scenery is beautiful. Well worth a visit.

We called on a lovely day which always makes these visits better really. This particular Sunday( 5th Feb) was more busy than we expected. We decided to concentrate on the immediate grounds and garden and we not disappointed. The walled gardens, fish ponds, avenues of trees and views from the front of the house are superb. The snowdrops are just... More

We went to Erddig for a walk and a coffee, but it will be a long time before we go again. The road we took from the A483 was fine until we turned onto the lanes. I have never seen so much mud on the road. It took me ages to clean the car afterwards. It was so dangerous as... More

After traveling one & a half hours to see Alice in wonderland sculptures we were hugely disappointed. Only 3 actual carved wooden sculptures & a half hearted attempt at a tea party. Couple of photo opportunities, but the house was closed as to was the kids play area.

Lovely big house - only part opened when we visited as it was off season but what we did see was very interesting and well presented. Helpful volunteers.

Fabulous day here with friends and the dog. We began by having a lovely walk the dog was fed and watered and then left to sleep it all off, while we took in a tour of the house and formal gardens ending our time at Erddig in the restaurant where we enjoyed a good meal..I would recommend this National Trust property...
