Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you like beautiful views go to Caerphilly mountain. You can see all of Caerphilly which is a beautiful sight, especially at night when you can see the twinkling lights from streets and houses. Caerphilly mountain is also an amazing place to go at bonfire night because you can see fireworks all around because you are so high up. The food in the burger shack is fantastic and extremely delicious! If you have a dog or enjoy walking, Caerphilly mountain is the place for you, plus when you have finished your walk, you can grab a cuppa and some food from the burger shack opposite. The drinks are freezing cold and there are lollies you can choose any flavour you want and sit on a bench and enjoy your lollies and the sun set! Harley and Greyson aged 7

A beautiful drive awaits as you wind your way up the mountain and once you reach the top, the descent affords you some beautiful views of the valley below.

Yet another scenic opportunity in this beautiful country.

Lived in caerphilly 30 odd years ago, loved walking on the mountain with my kids, returned recently to find this beautiful place has been ruined by selfish dog walkers letting their animals mess all over the place, absolutly disgusting, some people are not fit to have dogs! Would highly recommend Caerphilly council employ dog mess wardens here

The views are great whichever direction you look. Plenty of paths to follow over the Caerphilly Common. Some a bit steeper and rubble strewn than others.

Wonderful views. Windy and muddy as you would expect, just come prepared. Very clear path to follow that does a loop.

If you follow Google Maps to the mountain, it will take you to a "road" where some people do park. It's easier to park at the Mountain Snack Bar, cross the road, and then take the less muddy path on the right instead of the path directly in front of you. Parking is free.

Obviously, you only ant to drive up on a fine day.
There is free parking by a cafe at the top. It takes about ten minutes to walk to the top for the views over the town below. You can do a longer circular walk around the top too.

Wonderful trip here today with family. Took the 1 year old baby and 2 year old toddler up too and everyone loved it. Views are stunning and it's great you can drive up.

The mountain car park is always really busy and I'm not sure if it's because the snack bar is so good or because the people are actually enjoying the view from the mountain but I can personally recommend both as fantastic.

I walked the route over Rhiwbina Hill, through the ancient woodland, passed the Black Cock Inn and up to Caerphilly Common. A lovely walk. The views over Cardiff and Caerphilly from Caerphilly Mountain are wonderful. With a 360 degree view including spectacular views over Cardiff to Cardiff Bay and beyond. On a clear day, you can see Most of rhe Coastline opposite, Weston - S - Mare and much further afield. There is a lovely mountain cafe nearby wherfe you can get some lovelky refreshments including cooked food. If you are looking for a good walk through abcient woodland and ending with a magnificant view over Cardiff and Cearphilly, this is the walk for you. I live locally and walk this (and other) routes several times a year.

Lots of lovely walks. Some breathtaking views over the Bristol Channel from the south side of the mountain. Many footpaths around the mountain. Can see horses, cows and sheep on some of the public footpath routes.
