The fortress sprawls over a huge area making it the largest castle in Wales. Like the famous cheese, the castle has long been synonymous with Caerphilly. It dominates. Hogs the limelight. Think slumbering giant awaiting a call to arms. It's also a...more

Stunning castle even in the Welsh rain!
Wear sturdy shoes as uneven wet surfaces and steep narrow steps, good that you can access the towers and grand hall. Staff were welcoming and the first room provided the history of the castle by video. Unfortunately the...More
A beautiful castle with great history and lovely recent added extras.
Visited with my dad and 6 year old and we all had a fab time. My dad got to retake the photo he had as a small child holding up the tower!
The Castle is fantastic. Lots of interactive opportunities. The shop is great, staff very helpful. It's a beautiful castle to visit and now they have dragons it's even better. Wonderful piece of history in a lovely little town .
Large grounds, extensive access. Wonderful castle to spend the entire day.

My first visit to the castle after living in South Wales for over 45 years and what a pleasant surprise. Plenty to explore and useful information. A building masterpiece considering how old it is. The dragons were brilliant.
A great place for 2-3hours visit and a place full of history. It's great not only for adults but kids as well a bit of a walk from the main car park 3-5min but you will have nice lake view 10 min walk from train...More
Beautiful castle in the middle of Caerphilly town, best thing about the town. Truly magnificent castle to spend a couple of hours, especially on a sunny day. Customer service could be better though, girls issuing tickets were quite miserable.
