Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Went on a tour with my son , we both live in Cardiff and I enjoy local history, yet still learnt new facts from Ieuan. Very enjoyable time food tasting and meeting new people from Northern Ireland and Southampton and the tour finished before England v Wales game so we stayed in City centre to watch it, well worth doing.

Just home from a Loving Welsh food tour round Cardiff with Ieuan. It was fantastic as we tasted a huge range of food and drink from laverbread to bara brith to faggots and Welsh cakes and much more. A great informal and leisurely way to get to know the city and some of its food gems. Would throughly recommend. Off for a lie down now 😂🛏️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

The food tour with Loving Welsh Food was a wonderful and informative way to spend a day seeing my home city through new eyes. Sian was an excellent guide, and her passion and enthusiasm for Cardiff's history and Welsh food really shone through. I can't recommend this experience highly enough. Five stars!

We booked on to the Arcades Tour which took us around the old, historic parts of the City Centre. Our tour guide Sian was brilliant, informative and very friendly who brought the group of 4 couples together easily. Sian took us around various independent food establishments where we were welcomed, given a brief back story to how they came to be, and tasted samples of their food and drink. Alcoholic and non Alcoholic drinks offered, as well as food preferences, such as dairy free, also cater for. It was such a refreshing experience, to spend a good 4.5 hours in new company and learning things about a city we have been to numerous times. We have already recommended Sian and her tours to many of our friends and family, and would definitely rate our experience 10/10 Diolch yn fawr Sian

A cracking few hours enjoying breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert, and a couple more food experiences thrown in.

Breakfast in Wyndham Arcade, Chinese Tea made from rice, not to everyones taste, but I loved it. this was accompanied by Banana Bread with vegan butter. Delicious!

A quick cut through to Royal Arcade and discovered a delicatessen to die for! a platter of charcuterie. Mmmm! Nice. Browsing through Welsh produce. Cheese, meats, biscuits, sweets and a massive selection of Welsh made drinks products.

Ambled through a couple more arcades, most of which have wonderful places to eat, drink and be merry... but elevenses beckoned and we were treated to a little gem of a place overlooking the castle. A taste of wine and a cheese toasty to beat all cheese toasties, you have to go there to find out why it earns that accolade.

Onwards to Central Market. and dinner. A choice of several emporiums that take you around the world via food... For us it was Indian Street Food, it's freshly made so had to wait a bit as it was busy. Well worth it though. Popped downstairs to a Mediterranean delicatessen, olives several ways. Soo tasty. Back upstairs for our dinner, a vegetarian dish, my tastebuds went wild.

Desert next, Duke Street Arcade. Gelato, and so many choices. If you like real Italian gourmet gelato, then you're in for a treat.

Finally, to end the tour, a bar in Westgate Street overlooking the Principality Stadium. A glass of beautiful Port and some truffles. A perfect end to a perfect day. Thank you Sian for opening our eyes to 'The City of Arcades'.

You have probably noticed that we haven't mentioned the establishments we visited. Reason, you need to book this tour and find out all about Welsh Food at its best, You won't be disappointed.

An excellent tour full of information with the delightful Nerys. Lots of delicious samples. The walk is not too far. It was easy for 4 hours to quickly pass. Nerys is knowledgeable and kind. I have taken a lot of tours in my career as a tour operator and this rates 5 stars.

For our first trip to Wales, we could not have had a better introduction than the culinary delight that is Loving Welsh Food tours. Sian is lovely, full of information about Cardiff and the food that is a part of the culture. We were a group of four that enjoyed welsh cakes, bara brith cake, cheese and meat charcuterie at Wally's, pizza with welsh meats and Italian cheese from an award winning chef, Welsh Pie and Faggot with peas and gravy, and a sticky pudding. Nerys, a Welsh chef, joined us on the tour as a trainee food guide and we had a wonderful time exchanging cooking highlights. This is definitely a must for foodies who wish to experience the Welsh Culture.

We had an absolutely wonderful time with Siân on our private Loving Welsh Food Tour. We were a little apprehensive about bringing our 8-year old as, despite her love of eating, we thought she may get bored, but Siân was so good with her! We had great food and drink: alcoholic and non-alcoholic cider and a 'bangin lush' (sweetie) drumstick-cocktail. We also learnt so much about the area: the history, the culture and the language! My only regret is that we did not book this for our first day in Cardiff, as that would have allowed us to re-visit some of the amazing places Siân introduced us to and told also told us about. Thank you again Siân!
