I must admit I was a little apprehensive about trying out the folk night here. I half-expected to be holding hands with a bunch of people in hessian clothing while listening to dreadful amateur music. However, there was a nice mix of people of all ages and the converted church is very atmospheric. Colum Regan was the main act and... More

I am not a regular gate visitor, but very time I go I ask myself, why not. The venue is so good providing a large stage area allowing artists to move without restriction and multiple entry points. I always have a great view from wherever I sit and a super acoustic. Heartily recommend a visit.

Good production, enjoyed the night out. Was able to find on-street parking nearby. We ate locally beforehand as there are lots of eateries in the vicinity. The place is a converted church so seating is old pews which are uncomfortable despite the thin cushions on them, especially when you are sitting for a few hours during a production.

Comfortable seating in the cafe, lovely surroundings. Cafe service was dreadful - I really dislike it when people queue jump and the serving staff ignore it. Parking is a 'mare, but not accessible by public transport unless we allow time to go into the centre of Cardiff to get out again.

Not strictly a couples visit - it was just me and my mum. This venue is a short walk from where we live so we're able to stroll down. This time we came for an event as part of Pentrefest. Nice compact gallery space and great new bar area. Always worth catching The Pantaloons there - as it happens they... More

Amazing place for coffee, lunch etc. Quality is excellent. Environment lovely. Parking may be a bit of a problem at certain times of day. Unbelievable value...£1 for excellent filter coffee/hot chocolate....great.

Lovely converted church venue on the outskirts of the city, with standing room in front of the stage and multiple seating around the sides. A much cleaner venue than many of those in the city centre with a clear view of the stage and bar area of the ground floor. The sound system was decent. The only downside for the... More

Great use of an old church; a versatile and welcoming venue. Well redecorated in a modern way - friendly staff. At the time that we visited there was a wonderful exhibition of artwork based on Lego by Little Big Art - well worth a visit. A great venue providing exposure to new and upcoming artists.
