FREE & perfect for a rainy day
We had a few hours spare in Swansea centre before a cinema trip so was looking for something free to do to use up some time. We came across this venue as we walked around the marina. Completely free to enter - is great regardless of if you are a Dylan Thomas fan or not. My 11 year old daughter enjoyed looking at all the things inside. However, the back room is AMAZING! Literally a room for children, think we spent almost an hour inside. Has some board games, blocks, Lego, books but also had 3 tables set out - 1 to do word searches, 1 to make craft cards (not sure what the third one had) but all craft and art things - perfect! Would definitely visit again; great for a rainy day or just as something to do with your children to spend quality time together.

    A brilliant exhibition
As a Dylan Thomas fan, the permanent exhibition at the Dylan Thomas Centre is a must-see. There’s a huge range of objects from Dylan’s own handwritten notes, portraits drawn by friends, and merchandise from around the world. The exhibition also included one of Dylan’s suits and the original blue doors of the writing shed. There was a huge amount of information. There’s a lot to take in, so I’d recommend giving yourself at least an hour or so to go round. It’s also interactive so there’s something for all ages, and free of charge to enter! There’s a nice little gift shop with souvenirs and (of course) books. It’s a brilliant tribute and preservation of Dylan’s history. I highly recommend it to any fan of his work.

This is a must if you are a Thomas Dylan fan or are simply just interested in him. The exhibition ‘Love the Words’ tells the story of Dylan’s life, work and legacy, from his birth on 27 October 1914 in Swansea to his death on 9 November 1953 in New York. It was fascinating and very informative.

This is a great place to visit whether you are a committed Dylan Thomas fan or just want to find out more about this larger than life character.
Admission is free and the story of Dylan's life is told in an interesting and informative way.
There aren't many original artifacts but they do have the real doors from the shed at the boathouse in Laugharne which he used as his writing studio.

A fantastic please to visit whether you’re a already a Dylan fan or have never heard of him. I found the mix of the exhibits brilliant - video sound and I liked the interactive poem. Well worth a visit. Ps it’s free and the gift shop has reasons priced souvenirs (for example the posters are only £1, on eBay etc they’re much more expensive).

What a great interesting & very informative place to visit for few hours. So much there you might not have known about this great man, Plenty sound areas to listen to various things like his poetry & small room with screen on which to see various items such as excerpts from the famous Under Milk Wood. Thoroughly enjoyable especially if you're a fan.

Rhys has and has previously been such a polite and caring young man!! I can’t comprehend how polite he was even though it was so busy and warm on the outside table! He never failed to make sure we were well catered for. Keep being you Rhys!

We had been before but were taking some English friends there for the first time. I thought the exhibition was better than ever. It was well curated and looked fresh and interesting. The staff were welcoming and there is a small cafe and good loos. Just one comment for the management - the car park is not obvious and not well signed. Why has the university been allowed to take over all the adjacent land? I guess because they pay for it - but its not ideal.

What a wonderful exhibition! So well laid out and extremely informative. A variety of presentation styles are included, with loads of visual feasts as well as a film and various audio samples available. The staff are extremely helpful and the centre is very well kept. Lovely coffee and welsh cakes too, as well as some handy maps and guides from the shop. Essential if you're on a Dylan Thomas pilgrimage!
