Beaches don’t get much better
Sep 2020 • Solo
If anyone told me to visit the beach in Swansea I would have thought they were taking the Micky. But wow, this is an incredible beach, Sandy and large. Plenty of space and good for walks. Being on the beach I don’t understand why Swansea isn’t regarded as a seaside town.
There isn’t much seaside town development so don’t go expecting ice cream stalls and bring your own bucket and spade.

Day trip
Aug 2020 • Family
A good day at the beach. Not too busy but very popular with young groups and a few families. The water was warm but not as clear.

NO TIC sadly
Feb 2020
Sadly there is no TIC here anymore, a sad loss. Information can be found in hotels, etc. The beach front is great at Swansea, with town and beach very close.

Lovely walk along the bay
Oct 2019 • Couples
Swansea bay beach is lovely when there are not that many people around. On a clear day you can see across to Devon and of course the wonderful view of Mumbles. It's within walking distance to the city and a selection of places for coffee /ice cream is never too far away.

Gorgeous
Jul 2019
The beach runs along Swansea, so it's very big and usually not crowded. Looks a bit better in the morning, at high tide. At low tide the water is quite far away. Gorgeous at sunset.

Excellent beach for walking
Aug 2019 • Couples
Fantastic clean and well kept beach. Very quick tides. When tide is out it's a fair distance to walk to the sea but plenty of shells to find along the way. You can walk, cycle or run from Port Talbot to The Mumbles along the prom. Fantastic sunsets and on a clear day you can see Devon. Great for a quiet picnic, meditation and plenty of room for everyone.

Beautiful sandy beach in a majestic bay
Aug 2019
Swansea Bay is the best of what Swansea has to offer, and there is no better place from which to appreciate it than the beach. This review is for a visit on a day when it was too cold to swim, but instead we got to experience the thrill of kite-flying. In fact the wind was so strong that this almost became an extreme sport. Thankfully our children maintained contact with the ground throughout. One drawback with Swansea Bay - affecting the beach in particular - is the extreme tides that it consistently experiences. You can quickly find yourself an incredible distance from the water when the tide goes out.

Impressive beach
Aug 2019 • Family
Coming on holiday here for the first time I was not expecting to find such a beautiful beach. The tides were good and even when the sea was out everywhere looked scenic with boats from the harbour on the water. Small sand dunes along the sea front. A few cafes within walking distance but pleasant to find that the sea front isn’t crammed with them. Perfect for. A run or stroll along. Not crowded at all - plenty of space for all. Lovely sunrises and sunsets. We even saw volunteers collecting rubbish on the beach. Swansea are definitely trying very hard to upgrade and take care of the community/area. I would thoroughly recommend the holiday let apartments too.
