The mythical west Wales tour.

On this tour you are accompanied by a historian with a deep passion and knowledge of Wales. You will learn some Welsh, sample traditional Welsh food and learn about the ancient history and culture of Wales. Gareth, your guide is a fluent Welsh speaker and he will give you an insight into Wales that wouldn't be available with a standard tour operator.
The area we will visit is dotted with quaint old towns and picturesque villages which seem untouched by time. The South West is the home of Pembrokeshire coast national park, and is an area renowned for the beauty of its beaches and coastline. For the lovers of castles there many to discover with Carreg Cennen, Pembroke and Kidwelly being three of the most impressive.
An example of a tour could be a visit to the wonderfully preserved Norman Castle at Pembroke, then lunch in the beautiful medieval port of Tenby followed by a stop off in Laugharne, the former home of the poet Dylan Thomas.

We booked our slot and had a great hour, perfect amount of people to make the whole experience fun and safe, he kids loved it and the lazy river kept me happy. The sides were shut, but that didn't detract from a bit of normal activity during after the fire-break. We took advantage of the soft-paly area after the swim as well.

First time visiting the soft play. Our twins loved it, even though one of my twins put her hand in another kids sick and I ended up cleaning it up. The sensory part with the lights was great and something different. It felt safe and secure. We would visit again.

On a recent visit I had a go on the Master Blaster ride/slide (Wednesday 19th February). It was fun... until the final descent. My rubber ring stopped abruptly at the bottom and I did not. I was thrown forwards and landed heavily on my side. I let the centre know and management looked through CCTV and at maintenance records on the day of my accident, and said that all was 'as normal'. 'Normal' being what is set and recommended by the manufacturer’s guidelines. I don’t doubt this. But I was not being careless or reckless and I was injured quite badly. The lack of a safe, 'soft landing' at the bottom of the slide's long final descent is a shocking design flaw. I was thrown forward and landed with a bang on the hard track. I damaged my rib cage. The injury was initially extremely painful and three weeks later I still have restricted movement. I would have been fine if I had landed in water rather than on a hard exit slipway. Looking through previous reviews of the centre's Master Blaster (e.g. February 2017) I think I was 'lucky' not to have hit my head or broken a limb.

We are sorry to hear of your injury and glad you are now recovering. We have over 800,000 visitors to the LC every year and very few accidents. We take every incident seriously and fully investigate every reported accident here at the LC. The water in the master blaster catch acts as a buffer stopping the ring after the final decent, given it is a constantly refilling body of water that is displaced with every rider who enters the catch and refills for the next rider this is the most appropriate method and landing space. If the surface of the catch was soft this would be difficult to stand in and get out of as well as being slippery and pose extra hazard. I would like to reassure you although your experience is unfortunate it is very rare. As with all rides and attractions these is an element of risk to partaking in thrill seeking activity like water slides, we limit the risk and constantly review to ensure we are operating in the safest possible way. Please contact me rachel.curtis@freedom-leisure.co.uk if you have any questions or suggestions, I will be happy to hear from you and listen to your suggestions.
