Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fantastic introduction to the city. The best free tour I’ve ever done. Robbie was knowledgeable, engaging friendly and funny. The Bluetooth earpieces were a great addition. We came away with a much better understanding of the city and its history, as well as great local tips on places to eat and drink. Massively recommended.

Dave was an informative and enthusiastic guide on our walking tour of Belfast. Excellent local knowledge and a fantastic introduction to a new city for us. We always take a Free Walking Tour and have never been disappointed.

We really enjoyed our tour with Barbara. She was engaging and informative. Her insight about her city was extraordinary. It was amazing to hear the experience of someone who has experienced the difficult times and how the city has moved to hope.

We can’t recommend this tour highly enough. Barbara was a knowledgeable, personable and friendly guide and we loved hearing about her own relationship with the city as well as the highlights of history. Such a great way to get to know the city!

I was always told to be suspicious of anything that is free when the competitors charge anything between £10-20.
The guide had ear pieces for us and met us at the same place the other tours leave from.’
He was happy to answer questions, gave out far more information than was probably scripted and took us on a tour that ran over by half an hour. He then even had time to help us with other questions on Belfast and sights.
All for a tip at the end.

What a fantastic tour… Barbara, our guide, was phenomenal with her knowledge and ability to engage the audience who ranged from young to old and from all corners of the earth! We explored parts of Belfast city centre, with great insight and detail of someone obviously passionate about her home city. Barbara effortlessly weaved her knowledge, enthusiasm and life experience to make the 2 hour tour well worth the time and steps!

A well balanced tour of Belfast, with a lot of history, but also contemporary notes about fun things to do in Belfast, architecture, education systems, and the current state of Northern Irish politics. Was pleasantly surprised to have little voice receivers to make it easier to hear the guide on the busy streets of Belfast. Brian W. was my guide, and he was excellent and humorous - his tour was a classic Irish storytelling experience, including his personal experience in The Troubles, and where personal experience didn't cover the information in the tour, his academic background lent credibility and depth to the tour. He was kind enough to talk with me for nearly an hour answering my remaining questions after the tour, in a conversational fashion, even in the rain! I imagine he'd have stayed longer if I didn't look miserably wet without a rain layer (you should bring one, if you haven't figured that out about Belfast already). Good craic, thank you Brian!

Who know’s Belfast better than someone who’s born and raised in Belfast…Barbara. This is an amazing tour other than it’s free. Very informative and entertaining. Thank you Barbara, Belfast is lucky to have you to introduce the city to the world. Kudos!

Hi, would it be possible to arrange for a wheelchair for someone with a mobility issue? Thank you for your understanding.

We happily accept wheelchairs on our tours, All the guides are highly experienced and will consider all guests when doing the tour and may adjust the route where they see fit to do so.
I hope this helps with your planning

Hi there, will the tour cover the Titanic? Thanks!
Tom G
Dundalk, Ireland62 contributions
No, because the Titanic area is too far from the city centre. You have to go on a bus tour to include this area. The bus tours are well worth a go, because you see and learn a lot more about Belfast in general.

I am sorry, indeed the free walking tour ends at The Salmon of Knowledge. The political tour ends in Shankill Road.
I will be taking a baby in a buggy will this be ok ie is there steps or stairs?, thanks

This is not a problem, and children are very welcome on the tour if the infant becomes a little unsettled it would be appreciated by the group to step away for a few moments.
