We visited the Titanic Memorial Garden in the early evening while we were staying in Belfast. The list of names as well as the beautiful memorial and flower displays are a fitting tribute to those people lost in the tradgedy. Despite being in the city centre, the location is peaceful and a relaxing place to sit and contemplate. Well worth a visit.

The Titanic Memorial Garden is located in the grounds of City Hall in Belfast City Centre. I found it a bit odd that it is here rather then in the Titanic Quarter but I guess they may not have a suitable location for it over the river.
It's worth visiting this place to remember the many people who sadly died on the Titanic as a result of the chapter of accidents that led to it hitting the iceberg and then ships nearby not getting to rescue them in time.

Everyone knows about the Titanic tragedy, especially if raised in Northern Ireland. Interestingly there are other Titanic memorials and interpretive centres in other places but this one is a simple plaque listing names.
The most striking thing is the magnitude of the disaster, which becomes obvious as the eye reads the long list of those who perished, which just seems to go on and on.

Beautiful garden, a lot smaller than I expected, but a nice memorial nonetheless. So sad to see all the names of all.the people that died

We visited Belfast and City Hall which is in the centre of Belfast. Inside the grounds there is the Titanic Memorial Gardens which commemorates the 1512 people who lost their lives when the Titanic sank.
It is set out around a centre statue with seating and flowers. The flower beds have the colours of ice and water. There is also a memorial listing all the names. It is one of the events in history that people know about and are intersted in the history.

This memorial reminds us of the individuals lost in the sinking of the Titanic. Glad we got to see it as it’s located on the City Hall grounds! Historic site not too be forgotten!

It’s a Memorial Garden and not an amusement park, so you have to adjust your expectations accordingly.
But if you’re already visiting Belfast City Hall, I would definitely recommend stopping by the Memorial Garden for some reflection.

We just nipped through the grounds of city hall, definitely worth a visit. All the names brings home the scale of the disaster. Many names our kids recognised from knowing the history.

Just to the side of city hall. A very good memorial to those that sailed on the Titanic. The plaque lists everyone that was lost in the disaster. Just to one side is a statue to Thomas Andrews who designed the ship

This memorial in the grounds of City Hall commemorates the names of everyone lost in the Titanic disaster. A plaque surrounded by trees and shrubs as well as a statue marks this poignant tribute.
