Thoughts of a leisurely walk, a browse and maybe sampling of foods through the Christmas market was ruined by the huge numbers! Think it should have crowd control as there were so many people pushing and shoving that there was no Christmas spirit, children were getting upset by the crowds of ignorant people foregtting that there were little people there... We got married here and the staff made everything so simple and amazing. Beautiful building in lovely grounds and we utilised by the council who put on family days in the grounds and markets in the winter and summer, a must for any tourist.

Browsing around the Xmas market (mostly just food stalls) we went in to see City Hall and were lucky enough to be just in time for a tour (free of charge). We were shown around by Lynn who expertly explained the full history of the building.

While visiting the Christmas markets, I made a stop inside Belfast's City Hall. The interior of this magnificent attraction is spotless but sadly the same can not be said about their gent's toilets. Full of information, this is a must for any traveller to Belfast.

Interesting history from a beautiful building, entrance hall is breathtaking with wonderful marble everywhere, highly recommend a visit to this important historic building , opulent feeling through out the building engrained with Ulster history! Completed in 1906 to celebrate belfast being recognised as a city

The city hall was designed and built when Belfast was at the height of its economic power. The result is so impressive that Durbanites in South Africa decided to build a replica... The free tour is both entertaining and informative and includes a full-colour brochure with background information.

We went for the Christmas market and after walking round in the rain went into the City Hall as noticed they did a free tour. They had a beautiful Christmas tree in the centre. The tour lasted about half an hour or so and took in the Council Chamber, the Robing room, The Banqueting Room and another room. The guide... More

We were rather disappointed with the Christmas market but luckily found ourselves in City Hall at the right time for a tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and the pace of the tour was perfect. We were delighted to be able to sit in the council chamber and the tour allowed us to learn a lot and enjoy so much... More

The town hall is very central to hotels. We were impressed when we went in, The stain glass windows were very impressive, the one which caught my eye was the one commemorating Jim Larkin. There are photos of the Queen there as well as other V.I.P visitors to Belfast.

We came into city hall to get away from the Christmas market crowds and discoverd they do a free tour - so we joined in! It was interesting; beautiful building looked even better decorated for Christmas. Worth an hour to look around.
