If you have time on your visit to see this place I would definitely recommend it for a stroll in the surrounding country side above the castle, the forest is left to it own management and natural state, it is not groomed but wild. To the top from the castle is no more than 30 minutes and the view of... More

Around four miles from the city center (A2/A6 - Antrim Road) is Belfast Castle. There are plenty of events here year round, and it's a popular wedding venue due to its picturesque location and beautiful historic building. A castle has existed on this site since the 12th century in many different incarnations. The current structure dates from 1870, although additions... More

Went for lunch today.. Was served by two staff who had no customer skills whatsoever. Ant attempt at eye contact was met with withering looks. Tea was served, with a tablespoonful or two of milk in the jug. I ordered a ham baguette, which took quite a while to arrive. The baguette was partially cooked, too small, however the ham and dressing was... More

It's really just a beautiful building from the outside and disappointing inside. We could just walk in and look around. Reception ignored us completely. Made us feel a little like we were trespassing.. The Garden is absolutely beautiful and the view as well. The walk up was alright too. All in all its more a manor or villa in modern... More

We walked around the mountain trails and visited one of the caves and absolutely loved it. An amazing day with a little element of danger when climbing into caves. The castle was nice and pretty but couldn't see as much internally as expected as its a wedding venue and there were events on (I think) think the open top bus... More

We were passing by Belfast and decide to check out this 'castle'. We found parking and were a little confused when we wandered inside as it wasn't obvious where you could go to look around. We checked out the lower level which had some historical information and located some bathrooms as well, in addition to a nice gift shop. The... More

I hadn't visited Belfast Castle for a few years and was wowed by how beautiful the castle and surroundings really are. I have attended a few weddings here and cant think of a better place for a 'big day'. The castle grounds are amazing and the staircase in the gardens is simply beautiful.. A great healthy place for a family... More
