Lovely stop gap before boarding the ferry

We had a few hours to waste before boarding the ferry back to Cairnryan and came across this lovely place. We were delighted that this was free to walk around and the staff told... read more

On a good day you'll get a great view over the city and Belfast Lough. It's well worth the walk up and if you're travelling by car then there is parking up next to the castle. There's interesting history to the castle and you can look in some of the rooms and go into the basement to the cafe and... More

Myself and 3 friends went for a drive in February 2017 and found ourselves at Belfast Castle. None of us had been in years and had forgotten how beautiful the castle and it's panoramic views of our capital city Belfast. We were all very hungry and decided to have a meal in the castle's restaurant. The food was well presented... More

Great views of Belfast from here, great walk around the castle. Beautiful buildings, nice to go in and have a walk around through. Great gardens for pictures.

We had a few hours to waste before boarding the ferry back to Cairnryan and came across this lovely place. We were delighted that this was free to walk around and the staff told us to feel free to look at all the rooms and then finish off at the cafe, the gardens were lovely but it was a cold... More

Visited here with family and really enjoyed the break from the city for a few hours. The cellar restaurant offers some basic but decent food. We had sandwiches while my son had chicken and chips (he opted for the adult portion). Plenty of half portions available for kids. Staff were very nice and professional. The grounds themselves house a cat... More

You see how the rich live. There are a lot of interesting rooms with lots of treasurers . It has a dining area that is set up showing how they entertained with all the finest of china, silverware and crystal.

I attended a wedding reception in Belfast Castle and had a great night. It's a stunning venue with a great view over Belfast. The food was excellent and it provided a great atmosphere. I intend to go back for a better look at the castle, but from what I have previously seen, I'm very much looking forward to it

Belfast Castle is a landmark and is nestled in the beautiful Cavehill in the shadow of another real landmark...Napoleon's Nose. The castle is some 400ft above sea level & was built in 1862 by the Marquis of Donegal. John Lanyon was the architect & the castle was completed in 1870 & went considerably over the estimated £11,000 budget. When the... More
