Good to go there if it is rainy in Belfast. It is very long but free. I would not recommend to go there

My son Rory and I very much enjoyed the section on the troubles. I grew up during the troubles and it was such an experience, poignant at times, to look through the exhibition which gave a very fair account and time line of the key events. We also visited the cafe which served lovely coffee and cakes. I also saw... More

There is so much to see in this museum, with friendly staff and a great shop and cafe. Explorer sheets (free from reception) are like treasure hunts for children, giving purpose and direction to the visit. All periods of history covered and fascinating artefacts.

Highly recommend a visit to the Ulster museum, my kids of 10 and 11 were fascinated at all aspects of it. There are different levels to the museum with different subjects so don't forget to lift your map at the entrance. Also at the entrance is a place to hand in your coats which thankfully on the day we went... More

Had a really nice day at the museum, a lot of interesting exhibits and plenty of local history. Free entry although a donation is requested and well deserved. Would definitely recommend for people of all ages.

Great museum which covered five floors. Each floor had a different theme. My favourite was the first floor which covered the troubles. It was amazing and had so much information, I was in there for quite some time. The rest of the floors have interesting artefacts and paintings which are worth checking out.

We went there to learn a bit more about the troubles. The exhibition about it is quite small and includes more reading than anything else. The rest of the museum is ok, but if you've been to a good national museum, it doesn't offer anything special.
