    Worth a visit
A larger TIC with a lot of pamphlets etc on things to do in the area and beyond. Also tourist tat, sorry I mean souvenirs. Staff available to ask questions of. slightly surprised that they didn't know if there was a parallel to Cadw, Historic Scotland, English Heritage. The other issue for my was all the pamphlets are divided into geographical areas which I did not know so gave up looking for materials on Carrickfergus for example.

    Staff Pointed the Way
The shuttle bus from our cruise ship very conveniently dropped us off in front of this tourist information center where we picked up some free information and bought some souvenirs. The helpful staff guided us to a needed pharmacy and to a post office. Located across the street from City Hall.

    Lovely helpful staff
The staff in the Visit Belfast centre were so pleasant and helpful. We had a bad experience with Citysightseeing; we missed our tour bus to the Giant’s Causeway and Citysightseeing were so disinterested and unhelpful. We went into the Visit Belfast centre and the staff there were the complete opposite. They tried to book us on another tour but there were no spaces available, so instead we got bus tickets to go directly to the Giant’s Causeway for £15 return (1 adult 1 child), and the lady even took us out to the bus to ensure we didn’t miss it. The next morning ( the day we were leaving) we went back to use their luggage storage facility until it was time to depart for the airport. This was well worth doing, as the bus stop for the airport bus was just along the street.

Not used by locals often. You would have to know the areas and exact day and time currently to up to date transport information from the Translink staff desk and they have one transport old map on display which is not very helpful for exact bus on and off locations, costs of fares, no times of even the city main buses or the different types of buses or the different bus stations locations which go to different areas in and around the city routes or lists of the taxi companies phone numbers or how to get to the airports or castles, parks, concert music venues, pubs or sports areas museums etc. without asking the staff or asking them for the government paid for free public WiFi name and codes or no kiosk computer displays with efficient maps and current times or printers for use by the visitors. Plenty of staff but they don't tidy or organise the leaflets that are available appropriately and they choose who to assist and are mostly helpful to people who appear wealthy to which they wish to direct to certain areas to make financial sales of money...very little time or prepared paper resources or displayed routes or timezones or times of services even when new or changes occur in the areas near it for the occasional visitors who want to know what is on that day or how to get to places in and around Belfast by any of the public transport services to the tourist possible locations.... even the people who get an answer to their reason for visiting are told to look it up themselves without giving them a list of the bus, trains, Hotel or attractions companies names only to mention them briefly or write part of the necessary information down if asked..the reduced number of efficient posters and notes on directions or contact points and times and costs is to make customers use their phone and not provide a chair or water or food in the building so to force logging in to the WiFi and to not stay in asking questions as they will say that they currently Only Sell Or Provide Information On the Events it has Tickets for and does Not book accommodation or provide printed papers listing them. Transport, Ticket Venues and Accommodation websites often have missing or problems with providing the information and at popular high demand times may not be easy to do and will usually make people go through registering too much of your information before allowing you view basic public information.

The staff at Visit Belfast was amazingly helpful. We arrived in Belfast early Sunday morning and had not booked a Black Cab tour in advance. We were afraid of flight delays, etc. When we asked at Visit Belfast, they immediately called a few companies, which were already fully booked for the day. Then they called Value Cab, which doesn't have the old black cabs, but is willing to do history tours. $26 for one hour. Billy picked us up in front of Visit Belfast and drove us all over the city, focusing on what we wanted to see. (He might have been generous with the one hour...) He dropped us off in front of City Hall, and after he drove away, I realized my camera had fallen out of my pocket in his cab. Not having cell service or knowing Value Cab's number, we rushed into Visit Belfast again. A different staff member called them for us, and arranged for Billy to come right back. The first staff member came over and asked if everything was all right, remembering us from earlier that morning. In the end, Billy brought me my camera, and would not accept a second tip. It was a great start to an awesome week in Ireland.

We had our tour to Giants Causeway cancelled at the last moment so called in to enquire about alternatives. The young man at the desk quickly found us an alternative with McCombs which turned out to be excellent and £10 cheaper than the one we had booked. Also provided a most useful set of advice about what to visit during our short break. Excellent service

As a local I am ashamed how the staff are so ignorant to tourists and myself.
This is supposed to be a welcome centre for tourists, so please smile and greet as you're supposed to do!
They are also charging for maps and brochures. Absolutely ridiculous. They already making over the odds, from their store selling merchandise which is overpriced.
Get your act together. Tourists contribute to the economy in Belfast, and myself who works in the hospitality business, put a great deal into the tourism economy. You for one are taking advantage. Oh and please at least pretend to be friendly!

There are so many brochures, maps and guides available for free here that it took me quite a while to browse through it all. When I needed help from staff members (various times, different visits) they were extremely helpful and went out of their way to find the information I wanted. Definitely go here at the start of your visit!

We tried to buy the Belfast Visitor Pass at the Visit Belfast tourist bureau at the airport on arrival, since it would include our transport costs to the city and we wanted to get the offered 3 pound discount for the Titanic . However, the machine wasn't working to buy the passes, so we had to pay for the ride into town to the central visitor's bureau. The City pass is a product of the Translink company, who run the buses, but the ladies at the visitor's centre who work for translink were unable to refund the cost of the bus into town, or give us a discount on the visitor pass. We bought it anyway, since we wanted to go to the Titanic exhibit and use the discount.

When we got there, the Titanic people said there is no additional discount for seniors and students (which we both were) so the pass was basically a super expensive day ticket! It only costs 3,90 for an all day bus ticket, so paying 12 pounds for a two day pass with no added discounts doesn't add up if you are a senior or a student - and even for adult fares you would have to do everything offered on the flyer to make it worth it. DON'T BUY!
