There is no doubt that the wall murals of Belfast are worth visiting as they offer a look at the history of the country albeit from the perspective of whatever side of the community you are visiting. Never the less, they are art and are...More

The murals are a remnant of the Troubles as they are depicted on the walls separating the neighborhoods of Belfast. The murals are well done and worth seeing, depicting both sides. Sadly they are still present and the passages thru the walls are mostly still...More

By far one of the best experiences I had while in Northern Ireland (and Ireland, quite honestly). I leveraged one of the "black cab" tours and had a guide that was actively involved during the troubled times. Since it was just me, I was allowed...More

Using our Metro Day ticket and the very good instructions from Stuarty75, we took the bus from Queen Street to Falls Road. We saw the IRA memorial garden, Bobby Sands mural on the right hand side of the road at the Sinn Fein office. Then...More

Very interesting to see these murals which depicting religious division of town. 2000 murals have been documented since the 1970s. Not all murals are political or sectarian in nature. Some of them commemorating events like Great Irish Famine, Irish mythology, etc. Murals representing peace and...More

Best advice to see murals is hire a taxi cab driver who is not from Belfast. We initially tried hiring a black taxi cab to take us but driver refused due to his reluctance to take tourists on mural tour. Be careful who you pick...More

Not only are these murals vibrant and well painted, they also portray the time of the Troubles form both the Unionist (Protestant) and the Catholic points of view. Highly recommend seeing them with a guide.

Took a discreet walk along the Falls Road to look at the famous (or infamous) Republican murals on a recent tour of Belfast, having never seen them live before. Despite being from the Republic many miles from Northern Ireland and not being a supporter of...More

To say Bobby’s tour was the best part of our time in Belfast would be an understatement. He and his tour were the best part of our entire trip to Ireland! He has a fantastic sense of humor, it was like being on tour with...More

Saturday afternoon 29th April and we took a drive around Falls and Shankill Roads and we saw the various murals on both roads, Republican and Loyalist. Each mural tells in pictures the horrors that the people of Northern Ireland endured in their recent history. The...More

Visited the Murals of West Belfast late in the evening, on a cold and windy day, so maybe that made it even more heart-wrenching. As you walk along the streets you might come across residents who will volunarily stop and tell you stories about the...More
