We arrived at 10.30am and were there for 5 hours and could still go back! Most of us had never been before and the adults had as much enjoyment as the kids. If you enjoy learning, then this place is for you! We visited during the holidays, it was very busy, still plenty of opportunity to see everything, but would try to book quieter time. There was a prebooked show which was a worthwhile break in the middle of the day and we'd recommend it.

Some practical things: we didn't notice a cloakroom which would've been useful. We all had our coats off us, would recommend leaving them in your car. There is plenty of hand sanitiser available. If you've a baby and need changing facilities, take 5 minutes at the beginning to familiarise yourself where the toilets and baby changing facilities all are.

Have a great day!

Absolutely disgusted at the lies on the website of a complete revamp! One whole area has been ripped out that offered several different things to do to be covered by one (and not very good) theme! We used to spend several hours here and were out in less than one this time! Do not waste your money as it is most definitely not worth £39 for a visit!

Went on Sunday with our two daughters and five grandchildren, all under 8 years old. The children had a great time, we were there for three hours. Not a great deal for the adults to do you mind you other than run around after the kids.

A little disappointed in the coffee, a lot of milk hard to get to the coffee. A smaller cup might be the answer.

Kids put down 3 hours here learning and playing here on a recent visit to Belfast. The only problem was we had not assigned more time to it as they could have spent another 3 hours here. Super for kids to learn about STEM, nature etc.

Went today with 7 and 9 year old. Our slot was 1.30pm. We arrived about 1.15pm. We were asked to que along with a few other family's. We all waited just outside the check-in area where we could see staff just waiting to check people in ....seemed strange to me that we all had to congregate and wait outside instead of just letting us in when we arrived to avoid a crowd. The ticket is valid for the full day anyway.... .......once inside there are lots of different things to see and do and get involved in. Great climbing area on level 2. You pay Extra to go into the soft play area but the kids enjoyed that. We had to leave about 4pm so we didn't get much time on level 4 unfortunately which was about animation and movie making etc. Really interesting place to visit. Everything seemed to be in working order. Not overly crowed even thou it was mid term. We will definitely be back and leave ourselves more time as the kids didn't want to leave !

Second visit as the 12year old nonliking of learning boy wanted to go. I think this place it great but we are in your term time whereas we are on half term so it is quiet and easy to move around. Took the grandparents 65 and 76 and they enjoyed it though the getting the T shape from 4 pieces eluded them. I can see that it would get crowded in school holidays and weekends so I count us lucky we get the quiet time.

The W5 might be a very great place to visit BUT not currently during the building works at the Odyssey. Supposedly it is well signed from the parking lot to direct visitors to the back of the W5 on the water front. We did not see any signs and on a wet, half term day with two children under the age of 3, 0930 in the morning for opening we ended up walking all the way around the Odyssey before we could actually find the entrance. Staff were polite but not very sympathetic when we suggested more signage.

The W5 looks good but as a couple of the floors are closed for this renovation it is really hard to evaluate. And with it being half term and loads of children also tricky. We did attempt to try the science area about the moon. There are challenges along the trail which you vaguely had to guess what to do and two staff members were standing in the area just observing. Were helpful when approached but why not have them meeting and greeting in the area to give visitors an idea what they are supposed to be looking for and doing.
The entrance price is slightly reduced during the renovations but we still paid £16 for two adults who are just there to help supervise the children. Full price would have been a joke. There are probably coupons somewhere to help with the entrance price.

Come prepared to spend at least half a day at the W5. Lots of different activities that are both educational, yet very entertaining for the kids. It actually suited our whole age range from 5 years up to 13 years old.

We wasted 4 hours in the car yesterday travelling to Belfast to visit the W5. The website said that they were doing refurbishment and that ticket prices were reduced by 35% to reflect this - but they should not be charging 65% for a 5% experience. We had a child in a wheelchair and there was only one lift working - we spent 5 min waiting for a lift to each floor only to find that there was nothing open on those floors - only the under 8 area was open on the ground floor. The accessibility for a child in a wheelchair was dreadful outside and in this area. DO NOT GO is my advise until this place is fully open.

Hi P3935KCannem, thanks for taking the time to review your recent visit to W5. We do apologise that you feel disappointed with your experience. We are sorry for the waiting times you experienced for the lift at our facility, due to increased footfall over the school holidays and one of our lifts being temporarily out of service, this is something we are working towards resolving. To enable the facilitation of our exciting refurbishment programme, GO & SEE/DO exhibition areas are closed. Our ground floor, including gift shop, ‘VR Zone’ and ‘Spacebase’ activity zone remain unaffected, as do ‘Climbit’, ‘MED-Lab’ and under 8’s area ‘The Town of Discovery’. We take customer feedback extremely seriously and continuously strive to find ways to improve visitor experience, in order for us to formally process this, we would ask you to complete our ‘contact us’ form on our website. Someone from our team will be in touch with you as soon as possible. Best Regards, W5.
