This is a well kept secret. I have walked the tow path many times but never knew about the meadows. Great walk for a family or a walking group. The signage is not great but easy to make your way back to carpark beside Cutters Wharf by keeping the river to one side of your journey. We walked it during the summer but are walking this weekend for a sunny winters day walk. Really looking forward to it. Plenty of steep inclines to get the heart beating and flat areas along the river to enjoy the wildlife. Totally recommend.

Started at Knightsbridge Park/Bladon Court gate i chose to walk towards Belfast Boat Club as I had not been along that route before. The walk led down along a winding path with hedges mostly on both sides, and went past some gates into fields, but I headed on down to the River Lagan. The River at this stage moves slowly, and even in early Winter looks good, and the walk is very pleasant as the path winds along the side of the River and the outlook changes regularly. My walk out ended at the Weir, beside Belfast Boat Club, which I had been outside before, but in the car, and driving from the Lockview Road side.

I really like this park in sunny day's. If you are looking for some quality walk this park is not far away from city centre. It's up to you how much time you wanna spend here there's more paths you can choose from. The only minus I would say there's not many signs and if you don't know the place well, you can get lost easy! Lovely smell of trees and water . There's always plenty of dogs and people enjoying beauty of the nature in this park. I would recommend this lovely place and I'm definitely coming back:)

Large are of meadows with quiet paths, bushes, shrubs. Can be enjoyed whole year. If you feel like having a cuppa or hot chocolate, the Lock Keeper's Inn is maybe 1 km down south. A little bit further down south past Malone Rd car park there is a kids play area with swings, slides etc. sure to keep your wee ones busy for a good while.

The walks around this area incorporating the Lagan towpath and Belvoir Forest Park are wonderful and interesting at any time of the year. There is considerable variation in the routes that you can follow but one we do from time to time is to come off the towpath as we walk downstream towards Stranmillis and into the Lagan Meadows past Lester's Dam and eventually exiting at Stranmillis again, before coming back up the towpath to the Lock Keeper's café.
