About
Nine Glens Adventure Tours provides walks, seaweed foraging tours and paddleboarding sessions. Our walks are bespoke educational and interactive tours of Rathlin and the Glens of Antrim. Our seaweed foraging tours take you to the Rathlin rockpools to show you how all seaweeds are edible, just not all palatable! Also on offer are Paddleboarding trips. Based on experience we provide journeys to scenic spots around Rathlin or Paddle & Play sessions within Church Bay. We also offer certified safety courses for those who want to gain knowledge and increase their confidence on the water.

Engaging and highly informative Rathlin Forage, with a particular emphasis on seaweed - Ksenia is hugely knowledgeable and very generous with that knowledge.

Rathlin Island paddle boarding. It was so much fun and great learning a new skill. The guide Ksenia was so friendly and patient and informative and made the whole experience so enjoyable with her knowledge and expertise. The beach area we used was so safe and calm. I would definitely recommend this to do on Rathlin and it is excellent value for money. I can't wait to go back and do it again. It one of the best things to do on Rathlin!

I can highly recommend the tour around Rathlin with Kevin as a tour guide. It was very enjoyable, informative, and interesting as he really brought the history of Rathlin to life. The walk was about 5-7km and went along some trails that we would not have found myself, as well as on the roads. The scenery was fantastic. Kevin answered our many questions along the way not only about the islands history but also about life in he island today. He seems to know everyone on the island and no surprise as he is very friendly, chatty and easy going. We were delighted to have booked the tour as I got so much more out of my visit to Rathlin, knowing a bit about the place and its people.

What was our favorite part of the tour? ALL of it! We booked an all day trip to Rathlin Island and it was indeed the HIGHLIGHT of our holiday in Northern Ireland! Loved the island, the hike, the views, the one pub, and the people. Kevin as always knows so much about the history, and his love for the island truly shows. We hope to venture back again there next year with Nine Glens Adventure Tours!

Very relaxed and friendly forage on the shore of Rathlin. Guide was very knowledgeable and informative. Bags and scissors provided to take home samples.

Kevin took our two families out for a 5 mile walk round Rathlin. He was very helpful about ferry booking and times & his tour was beautiful and brilliant. He is a mine of interesting local history information, very sensitive to all the needs of the party and great with the kids who have additional needs. He seems to have a good relationship with the Rathlin islanders. We saw seals, skylarks, gulls, geese.
We all thoroughly enjoyed our day and highly recommend him for a top day out.

Went seaweed foraging with Ksenia on Rathlin. it was a great way to really experience the tastes and history of the island. I was introduced to a range of edible seaweeds I never knew existed and I got to taste 'pepper dulse' which is known as he truffle of the sea. It was delicious. Ksenia has a wealth of knowledge. Highly recommended.

Highly recommend this walking tour. Kevin has a real passion for the island which certainly shone through during this tour. Kevin tailored his tour to our interests and was very patient with our questions. We have been to Rathlin before and we were both amazed by the deep history and culture of this beautiful island! This tour really is a must do if you are planning a trip to Rathlin with plenty of laughs along the way.

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour with a guide whose local knowledge is unbelievable. We all learned something different about local buildings that we thought we already knew everything about!! The tour was relaxed but structured and professional. Everyone interacted with the guide and fellow members alike. Would highly recommend the nine glens walking tour to everyone.

I’ve been on several of Caoimhin’s guided walks, all of which have been highly enjoyable! They are always well organised, relaxed and entertaining. Caoimhin is down to earth, personable and passionate about local history. He delivers a wealth of historical facts as well as fascinating local stories and legends. I’m looking forward to the next tour with Nine Glens on the Rathlin Cruise. I would highly recommend!

The owner, who is an amazing historian and offers some wonderful walking tours, is Kevin McGowan. Yes, the Rathlin Island ferry does stop service in September. I highly recommend the three hour Fair Head hike. The scenery was amazing!! Their season has ended for 2018, but it will resume again in March of 2019. The website does say they are available for private coach tours and group bookings still. If you e-mail Kevin and request some pricing information, I'm sure he will respond if you give him a few days. Explain when you will be there. Prices vary depending on the tour and time frame, but to give you a ball park figure, plan on about 10-15 pounds per person. Hope this helps!
