Unexpected Tour.

What a wonderful building. The stained glass windows alone are well worth a visit. We got a warm welcome and had an unscheduled, interesting tour.

We called in to the Cathedral to ask a few questions and the staff were really helpful and enthusiastic! Within a few minutes I was looking at Baptism records belonging to my Great great Aunts and Uncles and the font in which they were baptised! I also bought a book which gave the history of the area, where my ancestors... More

Beautiful Gothic style building with a rich history. The interior certainly merits a (free) visit when it's open.

Though it doesn't take long to visit, this cathedral is well worth dropping in on, during a circuit of the city walls, or exploration of the walled city. It has a wealth of interesting books, the original keys of the city, and more recent momentos of the Somme and colours of disbanded regiments. Friendly and helpful man at the entrance... More

We went to have a closer look inside St. Columb's after taking the walking tour. The building has an impressive exterior however you do not get any idea of the beauty of the stained glass windows unless you go inside. Well worth checking it out if you have time.. Entry free but no photography without obtaining a token first.

Free to get in, no photos without donation. This is an open Cathedral so do not be surprised finding someone praying or meditating any day, any time. Be respectful and if you are genuinely interested in this Cathedral's history and what part it played in the Walled City's history, befriend a volunteer and they will unlock secrets for you that...
