Today's City has evolved many times and the gate at shipquay street is a fine example of engendered stone well over300 years old and still stands

This is worth a photo op when in town. One of many gates that remain in town. Another piece of history that should be looked at.

Shipquay Gate is one of the original four city gates built in the town's surrounding walls. The present archway dates from 1805.

This is one of the four historic gates of Derry. To walk around the walls and walk through this, and the other gates, is to soak up so much of the events of 'yesteryear'.

This is one of the four original gates into the walled city. The area outside is on landfill so originally ships came up to the gat bringing people from the hill on the other side

As you leave Peace Bridge towards Guidhall, teh Shipquay Gate becomes your 1st impression of the Walled City. Easy to access just to the side, climb up and take a walk, you'll love it.
