Very rainy day in Feb and we escaped to this lovely Boating museum. The knots were the most memorable thing.

We didn't allot enough time to see everything at the museum, but it was an awesome trip. Lots of cool exhibits and we learned lots about how Aberdeen grew into the city it is today. Lots of interactive things too-we didn't have children with us but I bet it's great for kids. I would return to see the things we... More

Be warned, NCP Shiprow car park opposite is handy, but expensive (even with the discount obtained by museum ticket), but the exit route is ridiculously tight - if you have anything other than an average... Very interesting museum with engaging exhibits for adults and children alike. I particularly enjoyed the hands on "drive your own ROV submersible", as well as fascinating historical artefacts, art works, ship models and more. Particular focus on Aberdeen's illustrious past shipbuilding glories (fastest sailing clipper ever, Thermopylae, was built in yards here) and the more recent oil boom years. Well... More
