Absolutely beautiful, and it’s free for entry
It is a beautiful garden. The gardens are well-maintained, and is scenic walks for children. The botanical gardens features multiple glasshouses, housing a wide variety of plants. It is a hidden gem in the city for enjoying peace and harmony.

    Interesting find
Open grounds with fields, sculptures & water features. Then themed indoor nurseries to educate all abilities with many types of plants, shrubs & small trees. I found the nurseries interesting from shapes, colours & categories of plant. With cafe too!

    Nice but noisy
Excellent coffee and an amazing selection of very fine cakes. It was very noisy with young children. None of them misbehaving just the number of them made for a lot of noise. It would be helpful to have an old pharts room to chat and enjoy.

    Well worth a visit
A wonderful attraction located within the impressive Duthie Park close to Aberdeen centre. The gardens are enclosed indoors within a number of linked large glazed greenhouse type enclosures. From the moment you walk in through the main entrance you see wonderfully coloured displays even in January when I went. You also hear the sound of flowing water from the indoor streams & warer features which add to the experience. You are guided round by following indoor footpaths which lead you back to the main entrance. Highight for me was the house which contained an incredible array of cacti. Other areas are probably temperature controlled with even tropical plants on display. Some sections are staff only which are set aside for nuturing & growing on young plants. Fantastc attraction, completely free & well worth spending an hour to do a full circuit or even more to read all the information boards more closely. Plenty of clean WC's & adjoining cafe restaurant which I didn't sample. Highly recommended especially on a cold, wet January day.

Duthie Park - A Visit to Remember
Visited on Easter weekend & had more than 3 hours admiring the whole Botanic Experience with a few seats all the way round. Went back for a second visit for two reasons - one to again admire the few places we missed on the first visit but also to check if there was any CCTV covering the disabled parking as an anonymous driver had damaged our car on our first visit. The repairs came to £275.00 which spoilt our weekend break from Dundee.

We love this place, I've been taking my daughter since she was small to donate (throw) coins at McPuddock the frog.
There is always something different to see in each season that the gardens are open.
They replant areas according to the seasons and its lovely to see and visit with the different zones of plants, Hothouse, temperate house and cactus area to name a few, there's also a Japanese garden hidden away.
The café next door serves excellent food - I can recommend their Bacon, Brie and cranberry toasties

We recently visited the Duthie Park for the Winter, Wonder, Wander and were quite disappointed.

Having grown up visiting the Duthie park weekly and attending weddings etc there, I had high hopes for the Winter, Wonder, Wander. However, this was not the case.

For a winter-themed event, we were expecting elements that would evoke a sense of the season: perhaps some nods to the natural beauty of winter or even something to suggest the holiday spirit. However, there was little to align with a “winter” theme or to inspire the promised “wonder” and “wander.” The lighting displays were pleasant but sparse, leaving much of the event feeling empty rather than immersive.

There were large volumes of people so you couldn’t really stay still and take things in if you tried.

Given the ticket price, we would have expected a more thoughtfully curated experience, with either seasonal plants, interactive displays, or unique features that only a garden could provide. The winter gardens has so much potential to create a magical atmosphere, and we couldn’t help but feel that Winter, Wonder, Wander missed an opportunity to deliver on that potential.

In summary, while it’s clear that the event took significant planning and sponsorship, it unfortunately didn’t deliver the winter experience we’d hoped for. More attention to detail and a stronger focus on a cohesive, immersive winter theme could make this event worthwhile for future visitors. Until then, it feels difficult to recommend.

Still a really nice place to visit but just needs a little bit of time and money invested in it. Alot of the areas need a very good clean, and quite a few of the fish in the now very dirty pools, are looking really ill. Water is pretty disgusting in a few parts. Same with the children's play park areas, small investment in time and repaint will save a fortune down the line, as there's lots of woodwork etc starting to look like they're on their way out already as they haven't had much done to them.

Duthie Park is a full day out with a visit to the Winter Gardens. Suitable for all ages. A fantastic cafe is also on hand with a wide range of coffees, tea, cakes and hot food/sandwiches. Staff are excellent.

My wife and I were recommended to visit the park and its winter gardens (botanical gardens) by our hosts during our midweek break. The glass houses are extensive with a full range of different kinds of flora and have carp and terrapins in the ponds.
The park itself is extensive with wide footpaths around the vast grassed areas. There are also childrens play areas as well as a tearoom. There are car parks but we enjoyed walking ther from the city centre and also from the old railway footpath.

I went there for a wedding. It was lovely. The plants are so beautiful and a great variety. It does get very hot in there thou, so make sure you have something to drink. They do have a lovely cafe there. But the day we went there to have a look around, we think they might have held a mother and toddler group as it was full of mother's with young children. There was a massive field outside, so the children could go out and run around. A lovely place to have a picini in the sunshine and it's free.

Decided to visit the Glass Houses here at Duthie Park. Amazing with beautiful displays indoors and a great show of colour with a Tropical glass house and Cactus house. Easy to get to however parking may be an issue as this place is very popular. Great coffee shops too, to enjoy after your visit and chill out.
