- Travel76944941 contributionsAnnual pass well worth it.We purchased an annual pass as a family and had countless days of fun here. If you plan to go more than 3 times it's amazing value and the kids would happily have come once a week and wouldn't have been bored. The vast majority of the staff were welcoming particularly an English young man who knew a lot about the electric circuit boards. The cafe has actual food you would want your kids to eat and always has a biscuit for the dog. The only thing lacking was a water play station (a favourite at dundee science centre) but it was a relief not to need a change of top here. Will recommend.Thank you very much for this review! We are so pleased that you are enjoying and getting use our of your STEM Passport. We have a new theme coming-up in December that you will be able to use your pass for too! Thanks for the feedback about a water station - it sounds fab and something we can look into. Cafe on site also has a good range of coffees and lunch menu. Spent a good 3hours here and found staff to be friendly and engaging with customers.Brilliant review - thank you for taking the time to share this. We'll pass this back to the team. - Diana T40 contributionsA brilliant day outA massive credit to Aberdeen council. What a wonderful day out we had whilst visiting the Highlands. We almost had the place to ourselves as Scottish term dates differ from ours. Our 2 boys (8&10) and grandparents and parents had a brilliant afternoon and we could easily go back again as didn’t manage to get around all the exhibits. Much better than London science museum in my opinion. Everything was clean, modern, working and well kept. Loved it! Oh and v v friendly, helpful staff. Makes such a difference!Thank you so much for your review and the time you've taken to leave us 5 stars. We pay be smaller than some other centres, but we make-up with it with quality exhibits and a team who love what they do ! Aberdeen Science Centre is not ran by the council - we are an independent charity bringing science to all, so reviews link these really do help our charity grow. Thank you again. :) We hope to see you again next time your visiting Scotland!Written 3 November 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 2 November 2023
- Laura FLondon, United Kingdom6 contributionsAmazing day out for allWow, what an amazing facility. We came today looking for something to do with a 2.5 yr old in Aberdeen. It happened to be a Sci-Fi event which we were not aware of before arriving. This is such a fantastic local facility, activities and games for all ages, fun and learning for everyone! Staff are lovely, great cafe inside serving delicious food and drinks. I thought we'd be in and out in an hour but we stayed well over 4! Everything is so well thought out and the attention to detail really impressed me, for example the hand dryers in the toilets have stickers on to make them look like they belong in a spaceship, lower sinks for children to wash their own hands. I wish we had something like this close to my home! Sadly I think London might be too far to warrant a membership - it's a close call though! What a kind review - thank you for writing this up! We're so pleased that you had such a good time at Aberdeen Science Centre and at the onsite café by Grub! If you ever find yourself back in the North-East of Scotland we hope to see you again for another day of fun and learning.Written 16 November 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 11 November 2023

We stayed 4 hours and were never bored. A lovely menu at a decent price. The venue was spotless in all areas with plenty hand sanitiser available. On leaving staff were delighted to know how much we enjoyed the experience. We are so thrilled to read your review and will pass on your kind words back to the team. The time speeds past when your having fun doesn't it!? we hope to see you again at Aberdeen Science Centre for another science adventure,Written 16 November 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 13 November 2023

- Emma M1 contributionA great day outTook my 2 year old and 6 year old here today for the first time and they both loved it, plenty to do for all ages. My youngest joined in with the story time session and my eldest the earth from space workshop. Whilst we were there we also stopped for a coffee/ ice cream in the cafe which was lovely. When we were leaving my 6 year old asked if we could come back every month so that says it all. Thanks for a great day. It's great you got to experience some of our extra workshops during your visit - we hope to see you again for another science adventure. - DrWork@WorkEdzell, United Kingdom252 contributionsGood three hoursGood day with grandchildren and couldn’t believe we were there nearly three hours. Quite expensive as nearly £30 for myself and two grandchildren for three hours. Some of the machines were broken such as the digestive tract sheep. Worth going to as a ‘treat’ and glad we went. We're delighted you had a good day at the centre! We're sorry that some of the exhibits weren't working when you visited - we are always repairing and working on any exhibits that happen to need some TLC. Brilliant place to visit to entertain a wide range of ages. We went as a 3-generation family and all loved it, spending just over 3 hours there including a refreshment stop in their lovely cafe. We still didn’t do absolutely everything, there is so much to see and do! The staff were fantastic and the whole place is really well set up.

We had a birthday party for our 5yr old at the refurbished ASC and it is fantastic. Had 15 under 5yr entertained for 2hr, including fantastic workshop where all children had a chance of making their own experiment, exploring all of the activities with flexibility of doing it in a group or on their own. The staff were fantastic, supportive and helpful throughout. They were also very flexible with the changing COVID rules, which allowed us to plan ahead and get all the other parents comfortable. I would highly recommend having a Birthday Party at ASC as it is very different experience, which helps children get their interest in different technology tings.

I launched a rocket, built a bridge and the faster car, solved complicate puzzles, sent a message, turned on a light with a wave, made my bones dance, a movie, and even talked and sang with a robot. I learned new things about space, energy, circuits, biology…
Some fun friendly guys in orange were always will to help and cleaning everything. A terrific time now that it is so difficult to have fun being most of the time at home.
37 years old I am. Younger kids seemed to be enjoying as much as I did.
I just wish I had spent more time there, I will come back.

I took my nearly-4 year old niece to the science centre and was very impressed with the transformation. Loads to see and do and a great way to spend an afternoon. We spent nearly 2 and a half hours there and could have stayed longer. The staff were all amazing, they were more than happy to explain the exhibits and all of them engaged with my niece by chatting away to her and showing her the exhibits and helping play. They also undertook very regular cleaning of exhibits.

Okay, being entirely honest, we are a science loving couple in our 20s and purely went here to kill some time, I think it was a Saturday morning around 11ish we went.
We were HUGELY surprised. This place has a mix of everything, it suits adults and kids, both young and old. We spent hours here and only left because we had lunch booked; we'd have spent longer if we could. Really nice place to go to, educational for kids but super fun too, loads of options of things to do, games etc.
We found this way more interactive and funner than Glasgow Science Centre.

We are thrilled to read that you found our science centre to be up there (or beyond) with others science centre’s in Scotland – that’s a great compliment!
ASC will continue to develop our centre with new exhibits and changing our workshops, so there will always be something new to explore during your next visit.
Thank you for taking the time to leave this great review!

Good time visiting with my teenage sons on a visit to Aberdeen. Lots of hands on experiences which they enjoyed participating in. Favourites were the robot, building the cars and with me (the big wain!!) I loved trying out the puzzle section. Big thanks to Vanessa who made our experience fun, chatting and helping us solve the puzzles when stuck!
There is a cafe (Grub) which was ok apart from an issue with a seeded baguette given to my son with a nut allergy but it was rectified quickly.
You're given a time slot - either morning or afternoon for 3 1/2 hours which is adequate time to see everything. Sadly however a few exhibits weren't working but all in all an interesting visit.

Visited with my 6 year old nephew and was blown away at how interactive all the exhibits were! Everything was hands-on and sparked his interest. Us adults were just as entertained.
We visited on a weekend and got to watch a science demonstration. The staff were excellent at handling the swarm of excitable children and the demonstrations were very visual.
During a time of COVID we felt safe in the centre and when we had a snack in the cafe.

Visited with my two boys and wife. My two boys really enjoyed themselves learning new things about space, biology and science. There’s two floors full of scientific exhibits to enjoy including a sheep showing it’s digestion system that I remembered seeing when I was a kid. Been told it is 50 years old.
There’s plenty of car parking spaces to the side of the Aberdeen Science Centre with friendly staff willing to participate with children on how the scientific exhibits work and has a cafe for refreshments.
We spent 3 hours there and already been asked by one of my boys afterwards about going back again as he enjoyed it very much. So look forward to going back again soon.
Highly recommended.

Thank you very much for this five-star review! When we refurbished the centre we added around 60 new exhibits but couldn’t say goodbye to our trusty sheep (which is the oldest, working, science exhibit in the UK!).
We look forward to welcoming you and your family back to ASC.

I took my 3 year old daughter and she loved it. We were there for 2 hours and she was fully occupied the whole time. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. They were also cleaning all the exhibits thoroughly as a lot of them are hands-on and interactive. Would absolutely recommend for young kids. Watch out for the gift shop though 😄 I got squeezed for a cuddly toy on the way out 😄 still giving them 5 stars!

We know how hard it can be to keep toddlers entertained so this is fabulous to read – thank you! With our exhibits being hands on there is so much for wee ones to play with and we are glad to see you felt safe using these exhibits.
😄 The cuddly toys are very cute!
Hope to see you again at ASC.

I think only if they were assistance dogs.
They were developing a little, grassy, outside picnic area, perhaps it might be worth giving them a ring and double checking if pups could go in there.
