Overview
More
Established in 1965, and Aberdeen's original live music bar. This beautifully equipped, state of the art, 200 capacity venue is conveniently located where the harbour meets the city centre, between Union Street and nearby Union Square (where parking only costs £1 between 6pm and 4am). The bar boasts an impressive range of booze and specialises in absinthe, cask ale, cask cider, rum, tiki, and world beers. Live music appears every Friday and Saturday from 9pm-11pm, on an elevated stage. This typically showcasing touring bands with support from local acts. The venue is equipped with a sizeable dance floor and late night DJs on Friday and Saturday from 11pm-3am. The music on offer is of the alternative persuasion with a mix of rock, metal, punk, disco, funk, soul, electronica, and hardcore on offer, all on the same night.

Any bar that has a tropical fish tank in the ladies loo is alright by me! That and an excellent atmosphere and cheap cocktails - what’s not to love?!

Been coming here for over a decade and always enjoy. Great drink selection and great music (not as good as before) and the refurbishment has been done well. Still a pity about the poor toilets and having just used to jukebox for the first time...More

Look, identikit craft ale bars selling pretention and beard oil have their place. And I enjoy spending time in old man pubs and draining my salary at up market cocktail bars. Which is a good thing because Aberdeen's jam packed with all three types of...More

Picture your dream bar. Does it have lines of world beer, real ales, nice ciders, the best sound system that money can buy, a jukebox filled with rock and metal, epic spirit selection, unique cocktail menu, stay open until 3, have great touring bands booked...More

Always great fun. Massive selection of spirits, beers and fun (but toxic) cocktails. Good selection of music on the jukebox and live bands on the weekend.

This is Scotland's answer to LA's Sunshine Bar & Grill, sadly no Lemmy but there are more than enough characters in there to make up for that. Great selection of ales, plays decent music, and offers straight up fun. Whats not to like!!!!

Been dining in Krakatoa/The Moorings for about 30 years. Usually once a month after pay day. You will not find a better restaurant in Aberdeen. The Ale selection is also good but that’s not what they’re known for. If you like heavy metal and country...More
