We had a hour to kill in Arbroath and popped in to the museum. It’s free and well worth a visit to appreciate how the lighthouse was built and the lives of the keepers.

Thanks for the kind review. We are always pleased to hear that people enjoy the museum and are eager to learn about the construction of the Bell Rock Lighthouse.

Small museum mostly related to building of Bell Rock lighthouse but of local interest too. Spent a couple of hours on a wet afternoon here. Well worth visiting but best to park at harbour as parking quite limited.

I can't praise this museum highly enough. The film on how the Bell Rock Lighthouse was built was so interesting and made you realise just how difficult things were in those days. Extremely informative museum and well worth a trip

Thanks for the review and we are glad you watched the BBC film also. It helps convey the human aspect of the story that no amount of objects or text labels could do as successfully. thanks again,

Thanks for your review. We are proud to tell the story of the Bell Rock Lighthouse ( not the Bass Rock - a typo I'm sure! )

A very interesting little museum next to Arbroath’s busy little harbour and some interesting looking restaurants including a couple of smokeries. All about life on a lighthouse and the history of the Bell Rock.
