The castle looks wonderful, the grounds just like a winter wonderland. We were with Lochs and Glens, arriving there was awesome, a heavy frost so it was white and it really did look like a Winter Wonderland. Whilst Tony was waiting for me a guide came up and told him it was not possible for us to view the castle,... More

Visited on Saturday 26th November. The staff at reception in the gift shop were delightful and we booked the 11.30 tour of the castle. It was very cold in neatly all the rooms we visited but they were nicely arranged and some really interesting things to see. However the guide who took us around was probably the worst I have... Thoroughly enjoyable. Beautiful castle and beautiful grounds. Excellent outing for children.lots of them dresses up - however as adults we had lots of fun too!

We really enjoyed our tour of Glamis Castle. Our tour guide, Greg, was very good and told some cool ghost stories. We were able to see many of the rooms and not just behind a rope. You were able to walk through the rooms and see the pictures and furnishings up close. This was the Queen Mother's home growing up... More

I felt like we were walking through the Queen mothers home as so many of her personal things were left in place. Many interesting stories of when the royalty were living there. You could just visualize when Elizabeth and Margaret were children playing on the grounds and running around inside.

Glamis is a "must see" on many peoples agendas but we found it rather disappointing - a bit disjointed and rather cluttered. Its worth the visit but we have enjoyed other historic houses considerably more

Waited years to visit and worth it , beautiful inside and feels like how you imagine a castle to be . My 3rd castle this year and one of better ones and has that royal touch about it . Also love the ghost stories by guides and being able to move around room with tour guide rather than being stuck... More

We loved the castle. The tour guide, Greg, was informative and funny. There were a few children in the group and he managed to keep all age groups entertained with information and ghost stories. The restaurant was very nice and clean. The soup, however, we felt was overpriced at £5.25! Nice gardens and play park.

We were looking forward to visiting the castle and tour but the down side is you are no allowed to take pictures inside and the reason is its a private home, The grounds are lovely to walk around, the cost of food and drink not cheap.

Beautiful castle and grounds. Went with the family and my kids initially didn't want to do a tour but once it started they were very happy. The tour was very informative and the guide was personable, knowledgeable and very friendly. After the tour we wandered the grounds which are gorgeous. The kids especially loved the hedge maze. Lovely afternoon. :)
