What can I say about my trip with Wilder Ways. Well if you're looking for adventure, look no further. Cara and Nikki are wonderful hosts and instructors (should that be required), able to tell you all about your trusty steed and the area you are riding on/in. Very ably assisted by the wonderful Hilary. The accommodation is fabulous, warm, dry, comfortable, homely and the food is delicious, provided by the wonderful Christina. The fellow riders this year were great company too, especially Alison. Can't wait to return again. Very highly recommended.

I had a wonderful "Three Day Adventure" at Wilder Ways. My horse Roxy was a beautiful, lively mare and I very much enjoyed getting to know her. At home I mostly rides in an indoor arena
so it was wonderful to be riding in the wild and beautiful Scottish countryside. The horses are magnificently cared for and are a joy to ride. Cara's guidance and encouragement gave me the confidence to push myself a bit which was very satisfying. Of the four other people in our group, three had ridden with Wilder Ways a number of times before which says a lot about how great the experience is. My only regret is it that it ended too quickly!

I really enjoyed the beach gallop. Wilder ways have such a wonderful attitude to everything horsey. Pearl was a delight to ride and has an incredible turn of speed!

Breathtaking views. Super lovely owners and staff. Delicious food, fantastic accommodations and the true authentic horse caring/riding experience. I truly wish we lived in Scotland so we could book a weeks worth every year.

I cannot recommend Wilder Ways enough! Nikki and Cara were able to help me create a wonderful experience to share with my Dad which we'll never forget. We had a day's ride including a gallop along the beach which was a longtime dream for both of us.
We were very lucky that we had the perfect weather for the ride which meant that Nikki and Cara were able to be able to arrange an experience we didn't think would be possible. Their flexibility and willingness to help was extraordinary and their patience with us was very welcome. I am not the most confident rider but Nikki and Cara made me comfortable and Nikki particularly helped me to push my boundaries.
Our horses (Martha and Puzzle) were fantastic and all of the preparation and safety was well covered. I feel confident that Nikki and Cara would make sure that you have the right horse for your needs and for the adventure you are about to undertake. The welfare of the horses is paramount, as it should be. The farm and local area are breathtaking, I wish we could have stayed longer.
If you are a confident rider looking for an adventure you will find an event or holiday with Wilder Ways fantastic. If you are less confident or looking to rebuild your confidence be honest in your form filling and you will find Nikki and Cara supportive and encouraging.

I joined a fantastic day ride over rolling hills with stunning views. My horse Raven was lovely - sure footed and sweet natured. Plenty of canters! Cara our guide was superb. I learned so much - from horsemanship to history! Very impressed with how Wilder Ways look after their gorgeous herd. Will definitely return!

I am 9 years old and I spent 3 days of my Easter holidays in horse paradise! Go to Wilder Ways if you want to learn to ride a horse properly. I took part in a group hack, a private lesson and a “Own a Pony” half day group session. I loved it all. Thank you to Cara, Hilary, Nicki and all the beautiful horses and ponies. Xx

I booked in to a one hour private lesson however Cara was brilliantly flexible and encouraging so instead of doing the lesson in the arena we went out across the fields while she helped me refine my sitting & rising trot and got a few canters in too. We went across rivers and fields and it was great to take advantage of the beautiful.location. Cara is so personable and clearly tries to cater for all abilities and interests, no matter your background. I will be making a point of booking in here again next time I'm in the area.

Hi Nikki & Cara,
My sister and I booked the 3 days ‘EXTREME ADVENTURES’. We aren’t the most confident riders, and rusty at best (we didn’t ride for a year), but Wilderways assured us that, if you have a good grounding of the basics in classical riding and are competent at all paces, this holiday will be unforgettable.
AND IT WAS! Everything (Jumping, cross country, archery, beach gallop) was done at our own level and pace. When everyone feels self-assured, Cara pushes you to take one step out of your comfortzone. « It’s called WILDERways, not MOUSIEways ». This is when the magic happens: ‘Full Gas’ racing at the beach, enjoying cross-country again after almost 10 years, shooting an arrow in galop,…
After a long day full of chalenges, we’ve enjoyed a hot shower and chilled by the fire place. The perfect moment to relax, enjoy the peace and quiet, enjoy the view, and overeat at dinner.
So if you can ride and searching for an horsebackriding-adventure, look no futher. This is it.
@ Cara, Nikki, Hilary, Christina, the herd (specially Blue, Vinnie, Denver, Puzzle & Pearl) ;
Thank you for the unforgettable holiday, and we hope to see you all soon!

I just returned from 9 days at Wilder Ways. This was a bucket trip experience of a lifetime that any person would come away feeling revitalized. Of course the horseback riding is the central aspect and the views from horseback of the Scottish countryside are sweepingly romantic, steeped in time, history and tradition. The horses are wonderful ( and take care of their riders) and Cara has an uncanny ability to match horse and rider.
The food that was provided at the farm was stellar. Delicious, wholesome and nutritious; this is what clean eating from farm to table is all about.
We also had time to explore the countryside and took in a fantastic voyage from the good ship SCARBH in the area around the Crinan Loch and Sound of Jura.
Next we discovered the joy of Gin making at BEINN AN TUIRC, a sustainable gin distillery on the TORRISDALE CASTLE ESTATE.
Part of my heart will always remain at WILDER WAYS and great gratitude goes out to Nikki and Cara for sharing their home, hospitality and generosity during my stay there.
For those adventurous souls who wish to gallop along the beach and swim in the sea, but also for those who wish to quietly reflect in nature' beauty and grandeur, WILDER WAYS has something for everyone who seeks.
