    Three Days Was Not Enough!
I had a wonderful "Three Day Adventure" at Wilder Ways. My horse Roxy was a beautiful, lively mare and I very much enjoyed getting to know her. At home I mostly rides in an indoor arena so it was wonderful to be riding in the wild and beautiful Scottish countryside. The horses are magnificently cared for and are a joy to ride. Cara's guidance and encouragement gave me the confidence to push myself a bit which was very satisfying. Of the four other people in our group, three had ridden with Wilder Ways a number of times before which says a lot about how great the experience is. My only regret is it that it ended too quickly!
Thanks for your heartfelt review. I'm delighted you loved it. Its always good to be left wanting more....you know where we are now, so we hope you will be back to share more adventures with us. Until then, keep it wild. Best wishes Cara, Nikki & The Herd

    Wonderful Experience (Again)
What can I say about my trip with Wilder Ways. Well if you're looking for adventure, look no further. Cara and Nikki are wonderful hosts and instructors (should that be required), able to tell you all about your trusty steed and the area you are riding on/in. Very ably assisted by the wonderful Hilary. The accommodation is fabulous, warm, dry, comfortable, homely and the food is delicious, provided by the wonderful Christina. The fellow riders this year were great company too, especially Alison. Can't wait to return again. Very highly recommended.

A hidden gem in the Scottish countryside
We had the pleasure of visiting Wilder Ways Glen Kerran Farm recently, and it was absolutely worth it. The farm is set in the kind of landscape you only see on wallpapers, surrounded by rolling hills and lush greenery. The beauty of the natural surroundings is truly relaxing and provided a perfect backdrop for our visit. Best part was our interaction with the horses ... don't even get me started on the fresh smell of nature over there.. loved every minute of it.

My husband and I visited Wilder Ways for their 3-day Short Break Adventure on the Kintyre Peninsula. Nikki and Cara were wonderful hosts who looked after our every need, including providing warm clothes, raingear, and boots when our luggage did not show up for two days. We rode sturdy sure-footed Irish cob horses over hills and down past lovely lochs with views of the sea in both directions. We even had the opportunity to try archery on horseback. Our accommodation was in a beautifully restored 150-year-old stone farmhouse, a spacious room with private bath. The food was excellent, with eggs, lamb, and pork raised on the farm and lots of fresh vegetables and homemade desserts. We enjoyed a lovely stay and can't wait to return for another visit.

It has taken a long while to sit down and write this review (sorry Nikki, Cara and the Herd). I visited Wilder Ways after my first attempt was thwarted by Covid and boy was it worth the wait!

From the great communication before the trip to a warm welcome after the long bus ride from Glasgow (thanks to our own very funny taxi driver) to the well executed exit strategy to get planes and buses on time at the end of the trip - the whole experience was just awesome. All this time later I still look back on the adventure ('not Mousey ways' as Cara would point out....am i right?) with a smile and giggle.

I was lucky enough to have a great bunch of people to spend the adventure with from a range of backgrounds and horse riding experience. Nikki and Cara catered so brilliantly for all abilities and even the most novice of riders are made to feel safe and grow their confidence. At all times Nikki and Cara were vigilant about safety and ensured that you understand how to keep yourself and others safe.

From sweeping countryside, up mountains and onto beautiful beaches (once you get past the first tee on the golf course!) our short break was packed with adventure. Despite being rusty Nikki and Cara gave me the courage to give my 4th ever (in my life!) gallop a try - and it was amazing....those of you who are experienced are well catered for I can assure you!

In the evenings the group sat down to a delicious meal made and served by lovely Christina. Over dinner we talked about the day's adventures, solved the world's problems, and laughed away our tiredness. The accommodation was super comfortable with a great night sleep and waking up ready for the next day of adventure.

Since no longer owning a horse, I have included a horse riding trip on every holiday away from home and have ridden in Australia, Mongolia, America, England, Czechia and Iceland so far. Wilder Ways is definitely a place I will come back to next time I'm in Scotland.

Until then Nikki, Cara, Christina, Hilary (and Rio) and the Herd, especially Finn - thank you for an incredible journey.

See you for a longer trip next time (after Sri Lanka!).

Cheers
Emma

Thanks Emma, What a gorgeous account of your adventure. Thank you so much for taking the time to share this. And well done you for your perseverance to make this happen despite the attempts of COVID to stop you travelling from the other side of the world to play with us. Loved your bants and energy. Until our paths cross again. Keep on adventuring. Best wishes Cara, Nikki & The Herd

Last summer we started our first ever holidays in Scotland, with a four-night stay at Wilder Ways. We are: myself, an avid rider in the past, my husband, with about 15 days of riding experience in his life total, and our two daughters, one experienced and avid rider (15), and one with little riding experience (11). The amazing thing is: This worked out perfectly. Cara and Nikki have a great selection of horses and found the right one for everybody. We went on two long rides as a family and everybody was super happy and excited about the experience. Particularly the ride up to a lonely Loch and down again was beautiful. One day, the three not so avid riders took off the Campbeltown, while the older daughter got her private riding (and English) lessons. She loved it and we enjoyed the town and the Springbank distillery, one of the few in the country where the whole Whisky making process is taking place on the same site. We also went down to the beaches and saw the seals that always seem to hang out in front of the cemetery, as well as a quick glimpse of a sea otter. Most importantly, I would like to stress that we felt incredibly at home and well taken care of by Cara and Nikki. They shared a lot of insights about their horse(wo)manship, but also about the countryside and the surrounding environments. The food the cook served for breakfast and dinner was incredibly good (all freshly home-made and from the garden whenever possible) and really reminds me of my time in England some 30 yeas ago. Finally, Cara and Nikki are truly inspiring and strong women, and I could not have thought about better role models for our two teenage girls. We loved every minute of our stays at Wilder Ways and some of us hardly wanted to leave again!

Thanks for your lovely review and for welcoming us to be part of your family's adventures. You were a great fun bunch and we loved it. We were so impressed that everyone managed these epic horseback journeys despite the mixed abilities. Credit to your family for being such adventurous wild spirits. We hope our paths cross again in the future. Meantime, keep having fun family adventures. Best wishes Cara, Nikki & The Herd
