Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed at Inveraray and really good move to go into fyne malts of Inveraray. Great range of malts, very friendly and knowledgable lady serving, really good chat. Went out with one bottle of kilkerran 12 year old, messaged a friend back home and went back 5 minutes later for another, highly recommended and no pressure in the shop( good price also) , thankyou

Not the first time we have stopped off here, what a great wee shop , have a great wee knatter and sample a dram or two, always end up with something special to take home, something not available in supermarkets, can't wait for next visit

We stubbled across Andy’s shop while passing through Inveraray on our honeymoon - and were so glad we did! Andy has a nice selection of hard to find bottles that are fairly priced. We were able to sample some wares and purchased a bottle we would not be able to find back home.

Make sure to stop in if you are in Inveraray and say hi to Zeus!

We had a lovey chat with the man in the shop about the whiskey range and came away with a very special spicy gin made by his wife. Absolutely delicious and a fantastic in store experience!

We stopped for a night in Inveraray on our honeymoon and had to visit this amazing little shop. They only stock independent distilleries, so you'll find some really interesting and rare bottles here. Andy was very helpful and friendly.

We talked for a while about what we were looking for and he helped us find a few bottles to take home with us, pouring us some generous samples along the way. Highly recommend anyone who is even remotely interested in Scotch whisky to visit this shop! I only wish we had a place like this back home.

Avoid this place at all costs!!! My husband is French and when we are here in my native Scotland he likes to buy Malts from smaller distilleries and rarer whisky's , he had purchased four bottles during our trip and had purchased a bottle from the other whisky shop in the town. He wanted to see this one also and the owner pointed to his bag from the other shop and remarked , have you pocket money left to buy more , wow , he's spent on average £85 a bottle , then says it won't cost you anything to say hello, at this point I'm afraid I had to let her know that although he speaks good English , she as the owner should greet ALL visitors , not as we noticed only her native English visitors , and number two , she needs to learn how to address customers for whom she depends to keep her business afloat, I explained how offensive and rude she was and left , go to the other shop where the kind, affable and helpful man from Ayrshire is , far better and he appreciated the custom unlike this foolish woman

Normally I don't take offence at negative reviews but I'm afraid when someone implies that I am in any way racist I have to. Firstly if the writer felt I was in anyway rude I humbly apologise. I belong to a generation that grew up with the adage 'manners maketh man'. I have never knowing been rude to a customer nor anyone else. Yes I would have pointed at the whisky your husband was carrying and said 'oh no you've spent your pocket money already.' It's called a joke. I speak a little French, quite terribly, but I always make a point of greeting people in their native tongue if I can because I believe it's one world and everyone is equal. By the way you did not tell me I had offended you or I would have apologised at the time. As to your comment regarding 'her native English visitors' well that's you being racist commenting on the fact I was born in England. I am married to a Scot and have lived in this beautiful country for 41 years. I even support the Scottish rugby team which takes some doing! So please take the time to check whether or not someone really has been rude or it's just a bad day and you might just be over reacting.

Visited back in June 2021. Spent a fantastic hour talking to Carol she was so welcoming and knowledgeable. My husband bought an 18 year old Tomatin whisky and we also bought an Inveraray Foxy gin for our collection. Could have talked to Carol all day. We called in the next day and my husband purchased another bottle for his collection.
Will definitely be visiting again when we visit Scotland. Love supporting independent shops and giving them support. 5 stars all the way.
Returning in March 2022 and staying nearby so looking forward to visiting again soon and hoping they still have some Foxy Gin to purchase.

Hi there, well you both know how useless I am at keeping up online. I enjoyed your visit and the interest you had in the whiskies just as much, so thanks.
