Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

During the high season Oban is a very busy place. This church offers a place away from all hustle n bustle with wide open doors on the main street, George street. Here you can find rest and contemplation, coffee/tea, children’s corner, ordinary services, and always someone working in the church. It’s a blissful place that is open for everyone, and occasionally you are given a full monty music adventure with the organist playing the magnificent organ.

I went to Iona to see the place where Columba had the monks create the beautiful masterpiece The Book of Kells. we were staying in Oban so the next day I walked into this church and there I discovered more history involving Columba.
I am first generation American and all of my heritage is from the UK and Ireland so the appeal to learn more about my ancestors brings me to this part of the world often. I love to go inside and imagine what life was like throughout the centuries in these historical buildings...

This is a pretty rubbish church. It is old and it doesn't even have a bell tower. It is ment to be posh but it isn't. Bad design.

You haven’t been to Oban unless you’ve been here, a must view, incredible architecture. A pity they’re discussing removing the pews - see it before they do. A true heart to Oban.

Dates to 1864 and added to many times. Because of its evolution it is a hodgepodge. Not pretty. Looks run down. Only church I've seen with girders incorporated with columns.
This is likely a great resource for the people of Oban but versus other cathedrals it is below average.

We visit this little Cathedral each time we are on holiday in the area. We try to go when there is a coffee morning - friendly folk and nice cakes.
It hardly seems the size of Cathedral as many would think of Cathedrals, however it has a welcoming and friendly feel, and feels a place of spirituality, welcome and prayer. There was some material to encourage reflection and prayer, perhaps there could be more. Lovely that whenever we visit it is open.

The church was a hodgepodge of different eras going back to the early middle ages. It has a nice musty smell that tells you it is very, very old. It was beautiful, well kept. We went to services and the people were very friendly but they didn't like it when I called them Anglicans or Church of England. They said it was a Scottish church. The choir and organ were excellent and they serve tea and cookies afterwards

Cathedral makes an easy destination for a short walk around the harbour at Oban. Gives some nice views. Worth it for that reason alone - the cathedral wasn't open anyway.
