Dates to 1864 and added to many times. Because of its evolution it is a hodgepodge. Not pretty. Looks run down. Only church I've seen with girders incorporated with columns.

Interesting cathedral. Has exposed internal steel beams holding up the sanctuary. Seems somewhat out of style with the rest of the church. However, the sanctuary is quite pretty and worth a quick visit.
Like the Bible, this Church bears testament to periods of change from 1864 to 1988,it serves not only the residents and visitors to Oban, but out to Argyle and the Isles.

This is one of the most interesting cathedrals we have visited. As it has never been finished, and started and stopped several times, you can see several different styles including metal work.
We loved it and glad we had popped in.
