We sometimes drive down here are walk along the sand at obscure times, when it can be completely deserted. No matter the weather it is glorious, in the height of summer with children playing in the sands. Or on a bitterly cold winters day with the lone person waling their dog. Its a nice spot, and blows the cobwebs from... More

Such a nice sight to see a clean and tidy beach, with stunning views. The car park and the road to the beach is really good condition and there is also public toilets that are kept clean. A lovely day out can be had here or just a short stroll on the beach or fly your kite.. Brilliant!!

When you park the car in the car park the beach is steps away. Lovely golden sands a few hundred metres long. If you fancy a longer walk there is a good tarmac path which leads to the small village of Dunbeg. Even on a cold day its a cracking place for a walk.

What a shame lovely sands, amazing views but terrible toilets and lots of rubbish around on the paths. It needs a bit more love

From Oban town walk along the Esplanade to the War Memorial - then just carry on going. You will go through countryside and pass through some very nice houses. It is about 1 1/2 to 2 miles to the Sands and a beautiful bay with ample car parking and fine toilets. I would imagine there will be ice creams etc during... More

Beautiful views across to the islands. Took some fantastic sunset photographs. It was very saddening to the the genuinely horrendous amounts of litter that people were leaving behind on what was otherwise a fairly unspoiled coastline.

Not far from Oban a lovely little sandy bay which even in Autumn seems sunny. There is a portable snack bar during the season which appears reasonable priced.

This is a lovely area of Oban, with views over to Mull and Lismore; such a pity though they have introduced parking charges, there is a very nice walk from Ganavan to Dunbeg, bit of a climb at the start but thereafter very easy going.

This is a relatively small beach on the outskirts of Oban. It is a pleasant location, with free parking off-season and public toilets. There are excellent views from here across to Lismore and Mull. The walk/drive along the coast road from the centre of Oban is very attractive.
