This is a relatively small beach on the outskirts of Oban. It is a pleasant location, with free parking off-season and public toilets. There are excellent views from here across to Lismore and Mull. The walk/drive along the coast road from the centre of Oban is very attractive.

Ganavan Beach...lovely beach but ruined when developers moved in. Big modern houses now take the place of a cafe restaurant and bucket and spade/ice cream shop. Parking meters also introduced. Such a shame...it used to be used by families, now its just a housing development with a beach.

I visited the beach at the end of the season and found it quiet but with lots of sand and at the end of a road leading out of Oban. It seems that not many Oban visitors make the trip, which in some ways adds to it's charm. It would appeal to young children, or walkers as there is a... More

Ganavan is reached by heading north past the cathedral. Only a mile or two and you reach a stunning beach with walks continuing beyond. A great picnic place and great views across to the islands beyond.

A short drive or a reasonably long walk to get to this small beach north of Oban. Plenty of parking spaces and lovely views towards the Isle of Mull and Lismore. Starting point for a coastal walk to Dunstaffnage Castle.

We came here for the parkrun (9:30am every Saturday morning) but we arrived early. We had a nice walk along the beach. It's a really beautiful location and the walk from Oban is worth while.

Was a little girl when I was last here so it is completely unrecognisable now. Luxury housing has spoiled it in my opinion. It's still a nice beach with a little hut selling teas and coffees etc but the toilets were absolutely disgusting.
