Firstly the ticket people in the train are the most helpful I've ever encountered on a train. Happy to advise and ensure you get the best deal for a ticket. The train sadly at times can be overcrowded and usually only has 2 carriages. Train...More

I decided to take this train line down to Tweedbank, and then travel on to Melrose. It was the best decision I ever made, as it was inexpensive, comfortable, and had an amazing view. The time passed so quickly, and I can't wait to ride...More

Beautiful scenery but could not enjoy it. Boarded train in Edinburgh and had to stand for half of the journey to Galashiels as only two carriages provided and both were full to capacity. It was hot and uncomfortable and definitely not worth the fare.

I use this service a bit, but the wifi is the worst I have encountered on any train. And how come, despite spending hundreds of millions on the line, we have the oldest trains with the most uncomfortable seats? At least the view is nice!

We took the train from Edinburgh to Galashiels. It was stress free, great value for money and lots to see for the kids. Highly recommend 👍

Use the P&R at Tweedbank. A great way to get into Edinburgh stress free. The train was on time and clean.

Ideal hassle free way to get to Edinburgh along a scenic route. Service was on time both ways, but does tend to get busier the closer to Edinburgh you get, and vice versa on the way back, train was busy to begin with but the...More

So before going to Edinburgh, I read a LOT of complaints about this ride. I loved it. It was inexpensive, easy to navigate and the train stop at Galashiels is clean and modern with a friendly barista to recharge my batteries. Yes it has a...More
